Mitsubishi Electric opens fifth factory automation centre

Mitsubishi Electric India’s Factory Automation and Industrial Division inaugurated its fifth factory automation centre in Ahmedabad on December 4 in the presence of Mr. Hemant Kulkarni, Plant Head, Tata Motors, Sanand, Mr. Satoshi Horiuchi, Vice President, TOTO India Industries Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Hiroyuki Kitamura, Director, JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization). Also present on the occasion were Mr. Kimitoshi Minami, Group Vice President, General Manager, Industrial Products Division, Factory Automation Systems Group, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Mr. Makoto Kitai, Managing Director, and Mr. Noriyuki Shimizu, Deputy Managing Director & Division Manager, FAID, MEI.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Makoto Kitai, Managing Director, MEI, said: “I am happy to present the Ahmedabad FA Centre to the Mitsubishi Electric customers of Gujarat with a commitment of more responsive engineering services, consulting, training and solutions”.

The new centre will provide factory automation services to Gujarat which has a large number of manufacturing companies in need of factory automation (FA) products, training, spares and services. Gujarat, with its robust economy and substantial infrastructure, is now attracting global investments. The increasing number of manufacturers in different segments and automotive companies are envisioned to stimulate demand for FA products and related services.

The Ahmedabad centre will help the ongoing expansion of Mitsubishi Electric’s FA business in India providing support in English, Gujarati and Hindi languages. It will offer FA product training, technical consultation and solutions support to the engineering and maintenance departments of customers. FA product servicing operations in the Gujarat area had till now been handled by the Pune FA Centre, which was set up in January 2012.

The Ahmedabad centre is one among the five Mitsubishi Electric now has in India. Well-equipped with the latest learning set-ups on FA products of Mitsubishi Electric, it has a capacity of training 10 participants at a time. Apart from keeping adequate FA stock for emergency support, it will function as a window for repair of FA products for customers. The centre will also provide faster and better local services than ever before.
