Rajiv Sharma joins DHL Global as Director

DHL Global Forwarding has announced the appointment of Mr. Rajiv Sharma as the new Director, Industrial Projects, India. He will be reporting directly to Mr. Samar Nath, CEO, DHL Global Forwarding, India.

Mr. Rajiv joins DHL from Geodis Overseas Pvt. Ltd where he worked as Director – Industrial Project, responsible for developing and managing industrial projects for India. He has been involved in Project Management, OOG and Heavy lift Management for the last 12 years, including extensive work in coastal movement, road transportation, and chartering & logistics management.

A Science Graduate with Masters in Business Administration, Mr. Rajiv has an overall experience of 21 years to date with Welspun, Link Shipping, Emirates, Oceanic Shipping, Crescent Shipping and Shahi Shipping. In his new role he will be responsible for managing, controlling and developing the Industrial Project business activities in India, provide leadership in the areas of product and business development, resource utilization, and support and co-ordinate the development, implementation and localization of key initiatives and programmes.

Industrial Projects is an extremely important business unit for DHL Global Forwarding’s future growth plans. The scope of work within the division typically involves transportation of heavy lift and regular cargo from ex works to the project location, including import customs clearance and final delivery to job site.

Additionally, DHL offers value-added services such as route surveys, transportation engineering, special cargo liability insurance and Material Management System (MMS).
