Tandematic systems for massive reduction in fabric waste

The US-based Tandematic, started by Mr. Bill Young, a textile engineer, in 1976, designs, manufactures and delivers smart and innovative solutions for knit & woven fabrics. Tandematic ensures massive reduction in fabric waste during processing on stenters, dryers, mercerizers, compactors, continuous ranges, printing machines, calendars and other process machines.

With over 40 patents, Tandematic’s technologically-advanced textile equipments give the desired performance with minimum tension, minimal or zero energy requirements, the least operator involvement and with the highest degree of accuracy.

Tandematic equipments work on wet or dry fabrics. The product range covers fabric storage systems, advanced fabric guiding machines, decurlers, stenter rail guidance systems, pinning waste control systems, top surface gum application systems and off-stenter shear cut trim systems.

Tandematic products are very popular in global markets like Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Sri Lanka and the US, as also among manufacturers of stenters, relax dryers, compactors, mercerizers and other machines.

The Indian presence

Tandematic has been offering products in the Indian market for over 20 years. The company equipments are in use at majority of the processing units in India.  Almost 80% of knit fabric processors and 50% of woven fabric processors use Tandematic products. Among the major company customers are Vardhman, Shahi Exports, Mandhana, Defiance, Perfect Knitters, Ocean India, Shivalik Group, Gupta Exim, CIBI International, S P Apparels, WFB Baird, Royal Classic, Kitex Garments, Rupa & Co, DBL Group, Fakir Apparels, Micro Fibre, Harapan Kurnia, Kahatex, Liman Jaya, New Minatex, Tietex Asia, Hayleys, Ocean Lanka, Textured Jersey, Trischel and Texprint.

Tandematic recently installed its systems at Loyal Textiles and successfully reduced the trim wastage by 50%. Tandematic has been represented in India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka by The Gaurs.

With growing customer focus on energy savings Tandematic’s vision and belief is that its equipments have a positive impact on the environment. The company is working closely with customers looking for cutting their processing costs by reducing the processing waste and energy cost and improved quality and consistent performance with the least operator interference.

As for the durability and service, the Tandematic components have an extremely low failure rate and need minimum maintenance. While wear &  tear items are readily available for quick delivery, vendor-supplied components are readily available worldwide. The Gaurs have a strong technical and service team to support customers.

Tandematic is continuously working on new and revolutionary products involving future-oriented and reliable technologies.

PRODUCT RANGE

Tandematic fabric storage systems ensure tension-free fabric movement without tumbling or tangling. They can be synchronized with the machine speeds.

The advanced fabric guiding machine gently guides the fabric in the desired fashion without elongation, distortion or marking. What’s more, once required brushes are no longer needed.

Tandematic designs and manufactures different types of decurlers in different sizes and solves fabric curling problems of any type. The decurlers are the most effective and gentle way of uncurling even sensitive fabrics at sensitive locations without any energy costs.

The stenter rail guidance system ensures close pinning without needing sensor adjustments. It eliminates mis-pins, handles all colors and fabric styles. The intelligent, pre-set PLC program ensures quick rail response without “hunting”.

The pinning waste control systems ensure very close pinning from the fabric edge. Not uncommon to pin within 3.0 mm of fabric edge.

The top surface gum application system applies gum on the upper fabric surface within 3-5 mm from inner pins. The gum applied can be adjusted in a running machine ensuring drastic reduction in the trim waste. This is not possible with other systems.

The off-stenter shear cut trim system can cut within 6 mm from the innermost row of stenter pins. Waste never remains on the stenter pins. It removes the bottleneck of reduced machine speeds. Following a mis-pin, the fabric returns to its previous position and trimming resumes without operator attention.
