The electronically controlled NH2 53 narrow fabric loom

After the successful introduction of the electronically controlled Narrow Fabric Loom NH2 53, the machine type NH2 53 2/130 as enhanced (reinforced) version in the market will be on display at this year’s Techtextil.

The NH2 53 electronically controlled narrow fabric loom

The NH2 53 is an electronically controlled loom for the weaving of elastic and non-elastic narrow fabrics. Electronically controlled shedding takes place via linear motors mounted directly on the healds. These replace pattern chains and drums and permit both unlimited repeat lengths and pattern changes in minimum time. The weft and auxiliary thread transport, as well as the narrow fabric take-off and main drive are also all electronically controlled and infinitely adjustable. As compared to conventional needle looms, the NH2 53 is fitted with considerably fewer mechanical parts, which results in less wear and a cut in energy consumption of around 35 per cent, i.e. max. 1 kw. A maximum of sixteen harness frames are available for patterning.

The machine control system consists of two components:

1.        A unit that is fix-mounted onto the machine and the operation of which is limited to the functions required for weaving operations

2.        A portable operating unit with wireless programming data transmission to the machines (one device for several machines). All the relevant data and parameters are stored and can be called up at any time for statistical purposes.

Vertical windows blinds have been woven on an electronically controlled needle weaving machine, type NH2 2/130. The integration of the LED cable is realized by a special feeding unit directly on the loom. Thus, no additional working step is necessary in order to arrange the LED cable onto the blinds. Furthermore, due to the electronically controlled shed formation of this weaving machine, done by individual linear motors, the pattern repeat is unlimited and can be as much as the whole window height. The LED cable is woven into a small tubular part of the fabric in warp direction. To prevent any damage of the small LED elements, the take-off rollers of the loom are equipped with guiding grooves. In order to give the required rigidity of the product in cross direction, a monofilament weft is used. After weaving, a standard finishing process ensures the necessary stiffness in length direction.

Warp Crochet Knitting Systems

ACOTRONIC machine_picture
The COMEZ ACOTRONIC 8B/600 high-efficiency, electronic crochet knitting machine

This is a high-efficiency, electronic crochet knitting machine that uses compound needles for the production of a wide range of ribbons, laces and technical textiles, both elastic and non-elastic. Compound needles make the machine highly versatile, as in addition to classic synthetic yarns (polyester, polyamide) they allow the processing in the warp of natural yarns (cotton, wool) and special fibres (Kevlar, fibre glass, carbon).

The machine comes in several gauges, from 10 to 20 n.p.i. It has a 600mm working width and is fitted with eight weft bars with electronic control, which can effect weft movements of up to 34 mm. The mechanical control of the triple-lever weft device is used for continual weft movements (without pattern) of up to 50mm and the control of the heddle bar for elastic threads. This enables users to disconnect up to three bars from the electronic control and operate them by means of the weft device levers.

A supplementary warp tube bar with electronic drive (BPO/STR-600) is supplied on request. This has an electronic drive that allows the creation of various knit constructions in the warp (open lock-stitch, closed lock-stitch, etc.), thus giving the fabric a lock-stitch characteristic. More complex knit constructions (e.g. double lock-stitch) are also possible using the BPO/STR-600 together with the standard warp bar, which is driven by special cams (TRICOT/S). The machine is supplied with one feeder for elastic threads, one feeder for non-elastic threads, one feeder for warp threads and electronically controlled finished product takedown. On request, additional feeders for elastic or non-elastic threads and fitted with electronic control can be mounted on the machine.

The electronic drive applied to the feeders and the finished product takedown allows for the possibility of varying stitch density values (stitches/cm) in a single product, as well as different values for weft, warp feeding and elasticity.

Comez Acotronic 8B/600 is fitted with the Data Control Controller, which manages all essential machine functions, monitors production data and enables the realization of lengthy pattern repeats. Indeed, the number of lines available for each pattern is virtually unlimited. Patterning is carried out and programmed by exclusive PC textile software.

Confection Of Technical Textiles

UV60 – RS –automatic cutting and winding device

???????????
UV60 automatic cutting and winding device

Textile winding applications are very different regarding material, winding format and winding body. This results in a plurality of different winding machines and winding systems that are often tailored to a very limited application. Especially winding applications for technical textiles often require special design adaptations due to their material properties, such as level of winding tension, thickened edges, asymmetric selvedges, adhesive properties, friction properties of the material surface and cutting options.

The UV60-RS is designed as a flexible and fully automatic winding system for a wide range of applications. Its flexibility fits well to the requirements of various winding applications and also covers a wide range of winding dimensions up to roll or bobbin diameter of 500 mm. Based on many years of experience in the design of winding, cutting and confection machines, the UV60-RS obtains a high process reliability and avoids typical textile problems, such as knots, roll and bobbin deformation, tension variations, loops or distortion.

 Features of UV60 RS

??????????

The main features of UV60 RS are wide variety of different winding formats possible (flanged bobbins, cartridges, cassettes, winding with tube core and coreless), roll winding between side discs in full automatic mode for the uniform distribution of winding tension across the winding diameter and an equal control of tape tension, tapes with thicker or asymmetric selvedges can be wound to flat rolls between side discs, problems such as deformation and pushing out of roll centre can be avoided, precise bobbin winding by tape guides heading up to the very winding point of the bobbin with precise traverse control and automatic height adjustment of tape guide, fully automatic winding operation, beginning from supply of empty tubes/bobbins up to final stacking of wound-up rolls/spools enables operator-less manufacturing, very wide and flexible applications for rolls and bobbins up to an outside diameter of 500 mm and a maximum bobbin width of 270 mm, high process stability, maximum flexibility and short set-up times through extensive use of stepper motor technology and recipe management and a long-range scope for textile tapes and technical articles.

At the 18th Techtextil Symposium which is to be conducted on the first day of the show, Dr. Roland Seidl of Jakob Müller AG, shall give a presentation on “Innovations in narrow textiles – Window Blinds with Integrated LED’s for Dim Lighting”.
