Reflecting on MAG Solvics’ participation at ITMA 2015, Mr. Dhandayuthapani said: “We are very happy with the response that we got at the event. This is the second time we are participating in the event. We had participated in ITMA 2011, but it was on a smaller scale. It was more to register our presence. This time around, in 2015, we had a bigger booth. Apart from the launch of SPinFO, we had also displayed all our high-value products such as fibre testing equipment, evenness tester and single yarn tester. We could book good orders for our products. This apart, we also utilized the opportunity to network and finalize with about four agents to represent us in key global markets where we didn’t have our presence till now, such as Brazil, Latin America, Egypt and the Balkan countries.”

The company is regularly supplying its products to Turkey, Iran, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Italy, besides meeting domestic market demand.

MAG-pic-3The successful launch of SPinFO has come as a shot in the arm for the company to further consolidate its strong position in the textile industry. Going into further details about the unique online spinning information system, Mr. Murthy said the dynamic and user-friendly software helps monitor crucial spinning process parameters, including, production, doffs, stoppages, end breaks, rogue spindle, air consumption, slip spindles, idle spindles, draft, temperature & RH, etc.

He further observed: “Energy management is another crucial aspect monitored by the system. SPinFO acquires data from each and every spinning point precisely, right from preparatory to winding, and provides detailed real time overview of the manufacturing process. This continuous monitoring and controlling of essential process variables in the textile manufacturing process helps improve quality as well as productivity.”

Key reasons for consistent growth

Outlining the key reasons for the consistent growth of MAG Solvics, Mr. Gangadharan pointed out: “Our instruments are deciding the quality of the end-product, which means that we need to ensure that our instruments have superior quality. We have implemented Integrated Quality Solutions (IQS), a comprehensive quality solution, as part of which our instruments are subjected to endurance, repeatability and reliability tests before they are shipped. Secondly, we are committed to quality of service, something that has enabled us to get repeat orders from our customers. Another key reason is our innovation and technology focus. In fact, around 26 per cent of our staff is part of our exclusive R&D team.”

MAG-pic-5“The company’s R&D has four divisions – mechanical, electronics, software and secretarial. The secretarial division keeps updating the standards, which ensures that the company’s products are always technologically up-to-date, keeping in tune with the latest available globally. MAG Solvics’ R&D is recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).

A win-win proposition
MAG Solvics tied up with A.T.E Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. in 2009, one of India’s premier textile machinery sales and service companies. The tie-up has been a win-win proposition for both the companies which together are scaling one peak after another.

Throwing light on the partnership, Mr. Dhandayuthapani explained: “We don’t have a supplier-agent kind of relationship. We are more like a family. There is lot of technology sharing involved. Both of us have leveraged each other’s strengths and grown together.”
Going into further details, Mr. Murthy added: “We had initially signed an agreement for a short period, i.e., till around 2013-14. Based on our relationship, now A.T.E has said that our agreement is for an indefinite period. This shows the strong bond that we share.”

Exciting times ahead
The company has exciting plans lined up during its Silver Jubilee year. According to Mr. Gangadharan, MAG Solvics is marching ahead based on a clear-cut road-map laid out in the MAG 2020 Vision document. Elaborating on the plans Mr. Gangadharan remarked: “If you see our advertising tag line it says – ‘Beyond Quality’. This is what we are always striving for. We are already committed to offering the best quality. Our endeavor is to ensure that we also offer value addition beyond quality. That is why we provide our customers with calibration certificate, warranty certificate, we help them with the design of the lab layout, we train their staff and after training we evaluate whether the operator is good or not, etc. So, you see we offer a comprehensive solution and not just a product. We are sure that we will achieve all the goals that we have envisioned in the MAG 2020 Vision document.”

The company is also in the process of adding a full-fledged, modern machine shop spread over a sprawling 6,000 sq.ft. area adjacent to its current factory premises in Coimbatore.
