Sankhla diversifies into technical textiles

The Sankhla Group, known for its polymer compounds and cables since 1984, has diversified into manufacturing technical textiles where fabrics are produced for end applications such as luggage, filter bags, body wear, camouflage suits, tarpaulins, awnings and canopies.

Sankhla has a world class weaving facility equipped with best-in-class machines imported from Germany, Italy, etc. Weaving is done on rapier and air-jet looms from Tsudokoma and Dornier. Efficient scouring, coating and curing add value to the base fabrics required for specific end applications. The weaving facility produces three lakh metres of fabric per month.

Sankhla-pic-1Sankhla has also an excellent technical team with skills required to meet the product specifications. The well-equipped laboratory has equipments sourced from reputed overseas manufacturers.

Already producing polyester, nylon and polypropylene fabrics for luggage bags, backpacks and adventure sports bags, the company is perhaps the largest aramid fabric manufacturer in Asia for bullet-proof jackets.
