AB Reiniger – Welker relations growing stronger

Traditionally bilateral trade relations between India and Germany have always been strong and cordial. Perhaps this is best reflected in the collaborative initiatives taken by them in the textile industry. A case in point is the joint venture between AB Reiniger Industries Pvt. Ltd. of Coimbatore and Welker Spintech of Germany. Offering a world-class range of products with industry leading technology and backed by excellent technical support services, the joint venture has been growing from strength to strength.

In an informal chat with The Textile Magazine, Mr. R. Anbazhahan, Managing Director, AB Reiniger Industries, said: “The factors contributing to the company success include the combination of our modern factory set-up, our competent team consisting of some of the finest talents in the industry and of course the German technology. By God’s grace we are well equipped to be able to achieve 100% growth, year on year”.

A firm commitment to quality and constant innovation has been one of the cornerstones of the company’s steady progress. Going further into details, Mr. Anbazhahan said: “We have a clear-cut vision and we are progressing all along as per the vision. We want to come up with a completely automated line of products. Customers can get a peek into our ambitious growth plans at the forthcoming ITME 2016 event where we are lining up new launches. The hard work of our team has ensured that now Reiniger Welker is a well established name. We have started one more venture, ‘RMW’, through which we want to add certain other product categories”.

German technology to the fore

Yarn conditioning plants (YCP) is an area where the company has carved a niche for itself. Pointing out the facts behind the accolades, Mr. Anbazhahan said: “Our main focus is on yarn conditioning systems. We can proudly say that we are the only company in India that offers German technology in this line. In order to offer precision German technology, we adhere to certain testing and welding standards, apart from having the requisite manufacturing infrastructure”.

With Welker Spintech GmbH, now a global power in the area of yarn conditioning plants, the technology sharing arrangement has come as a shot in the arm for the joint venture.

Mr. Anbazhahan is proud of the fact that the YCP is indigenously manufactured in the company’s Coimbatore plant, with only the sensor being imported from Germany. With 25 installations set up in a short period, the company has really leap-frogged into the limelight, thanks to its prowess when it comes to YCPs.

Consistent growth

Bobbin transportation systems (BTS) is another product segment where the company has established a strong presence. Explaining the company’s strong point in this product category, he said: “With increasing levels of automation in spinning BTS has become a ‘must’ for new generation spin frames. Connecting components are critical for the optimum performance of BTS. We use the best components sourced globally. For example, the proven motor that we use is from Europe. Similarly, the profile comes from Denmark company. With the result in our system 1800-2400 bobbins can be transported in a loop. This is not the case with other competing products which hardly transport 600-700 bobbins in a loop. Add to this the excellent technical back-up service support offered by us. Reasonable pricing is another competitive advantage that we have got. I take pride in stating that we have set new benchmarks in the field of BTS in a remarkably short span of time”. The company has done some major BTS-based projects in the Rajkot-Ahmedabad belt.

Commenting further on the topic, Mr. Anbazhahan said: “We have done around 18 projects in the region. Top mills such as D.Raja Cotton and Real Syntex are using our BTS. In fact, in the case of D.Raja Cotton, which is one of the topmost mills in Gujarat, they went around studying different BTS systems and finally zeroed in on our product, which is perhaps the best testimonial for our product offering”.

AB Reiniger Industries was an already established manufacturer of overhead travelling cleaner (OHTC) before the joint venture with Welker happened, and it is a product segment where it still continues to enjoy a significant market share. Sharing inputs on this particular product segment, Mr. Anbazhahan stated: “We continue to do well in the OHTC segment. With our capability to continually improve, innovate and customize product offerings in tune with specific requirements, we are sure to continue our reign among the top suppliers of OHTCs”.

Speaking about future plans, he disclosed that AB Reiniger Industries wants to diversify into the material handling equipment (MHE) segment in the very near future.
