Luwa launches TexGuard metal & fire detection systems

The first half of the current year was pretty good for Luwa AG. The company further strengthened its leadership globally in markets like China, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Turkey and Switzerland and now expects to continue the strong performance during the rest of the year as well.

Luwa has recently launched the TexGuard system meant for comprehensive spinning machine protection. It comes with three main protection components for metal detection, spark detection and filter protection at the FDP plant. The consequences of improper protection are serious for a textile mill in the form of damage to machines, fire in machines and the FDP system resulting in downtime and stoppages of machines for longer time frame. The Luwa system uses highly sensitive metal as well as spark detectors and has integrated the same with fast acting diverting flap for removal of metal and sparks from the material and waste transport lines.

It is different from other suppliers as the sensors are highly sensitive and can detect sparks even when fully covered with dust and cotton. The flaps are of high speed and quick in acting. This reduces the requirement of pipe length between the valve and the sensors.

The metal sensors estimate the velocity of the metal travelling in the duct for getting the exact timing for opening of the diverting valve, thus preventing diversion of good cotton.

Luwa provides unique and economical solutions for protection of filters at the FDP plants. It also provides the complete package solution of metal detection, spark detection and FDP protection to its customers.

At ITMA 2014, Luwa was able to extend its reach to a lot of new customers and generate orders from Turkey, Indonesia, Iran and Bangladesh. The company says it’s far ahead of its target as far as sales booking and dispatches are concerned in the first half of the year.

Speaking about the Indian market, Mr. P.K. Singh, General Manager, Luwa India, observes: “There are a lot of expectations from the new Government, and we hope that market will gain momentum with the new policies announced for starting new textile parks. Luwa aims to the cater to all segments of the Indian textile market and provide them customized solutions for their various air needs. As far as Luwa India is concerned, the year 2014 has been good with increased sales and order booking”.

As reported earlier, Luwa’s new Indian plant is under construction and should be complete by the end of this year. Luwa is investing in the latest machines and aims to produce quality products to cater to the Indian market and to the requirements of neighboring countries.

With a very strong R&D and product development team, the company also gets into partnership with research universities for developing new products and for optimizing its existing products for higher productivity and energy efficiency. With its quality products and proximity to its customers the company is able to significantly reduce the downtime and maintenance requirements.
