The Monti hot melt & lamination technology has a wide range of applications for all kinds of substrates such as woven, non-woven, knitted and technical textile and in large segments like textile clothing, garment interlining, sports textiles, geo textiles, medical, automotive, home furnishing, industrial, foam – mattresses, footwear, etc.
The technology applications cover bonding/laminating by hot-melt; full-coating by hot-melt; film/web thermobonding; plastification and coating with film; transfer printing of polyurethane, PVC and synthetic leather; metallization and gold film laminations; transfer of special effects (e.g., snake skin); and “black out” films and barriers.
The lamination process is by way of direct application of thermoplastic polymers in granule form and/or reactive polymers in special cans. The hot melt polymer is melted through an extruder/fuser and applied directly to a substrate either by engraved cylinder/roller or full coating and, thereafter, in case of bonded products; the second substrate is offered to the first and assembled layers are cooled by making contact with the chilled cylinder.
Monti is working with a patented heating cylinder and a vacuum-sealed Dithermic oil bath system without any external heating. There is no need for separate boiler or oil or gas connection. The system allows perfect temperature control and stability for very uniform bonding.
Monti has special arrangements of overfeed device (dogal) at the entry & exit and for membrane film separately. The Monti-engraved cylinder/roller is with laser engraved to have more precise dots. The company has a testing and training facility at its R&D center in Italy, with integrated local/regional language software support.
The engraving roller supplied is of 250 mm diameter, which gives precise dot distribution and uniform glue application. Customized machine versions as per specific client requirements are also available.
