Indo Intertex is a textile and garment machinery exhibition organized on an international scale. With Indonesia as the host nation, this event seeks to provide new and innovative solutions to tackle the threats posed by globalization of businesses, especially to textile and garment machine manufacturers in Indonesia. The venue for this trade show enabled the attendees to meet industry experts and gather important information on this sector.

This year’s Intertex event was well attended by Indian exhibitors. Most of the participants felt that the sentiments are positive after two years of slow textile business in Indonesia. Value addition was the key and many manufacturers supplying accessories for value creation were the happiest of the lot.

At this year’s event, more than 600 exhibitors occupied over 24,000 sq.m. of space. The overall response was quite encouraging.

LRT’s successful participation

LRT had an exhaustive participation in the show. It launched the Sapphire Plus finish for the Indonesian market, as also LRT Stroboscope. The response for these products was more than expected.

LRT also showcased its products from its group company Lakshmi Energy and Environment Designs (LEED) which specialises in total environment solutions, both in liquid and solid waste management. If offers STPs, ETPs, ROs, softeners, clarifiers, and complete water and waste water solutions in the field of water treatment. In Solid waste management it offers biogas plants, organic waste convertors and waste to energy solutions.

LRT has consolidated its position in all export markets. With the launch of the new finishes and profiles, customers are benefitted with higher life and better performance. LRT has country-specific profiles and finishes tailor made for each market. This has helped the company gain a dominant share in all the markets it is operating. The major strength of LRT is the service offered in terms of immediate deliveries from local stocks at different stock points in Indonesia and also the service in terms of improving the performance and problem solving with the help of dedicated engineers permanently stationed in Indonesia.

LRT, a global leader in ring travellers, is further consolidating and increasing our market share and brand equity in all markets. Its products are exported to over 40 countries and used in over 50 million spindles.

Suessen range of products

For Suessen, Indo Intertex 2016 offered a rare opportunity for products display. Suessen is represented in Indonesia by AGANSA, whose stall was centrally located. The company displayed its OE spareparts, top arms for ring spinning and for simplex, and, of course, the newest version of the Suessen EliTe Compact system.

The response, mainly to the EliTe was excellent, both in quantity and quality. There was a growing demand for premium parts and the EliTe. Of course the fact that many technicians in Indonesian mills are from India helps promote EliTe, which is so well established in India.

At present the yarn market in Indonesia is a bit subdued, but many customers expect a turnaround soon.

Elgi Ultra display

The brand Elgi Ultra has been present in the Indonesian market for nearly a decade now, after consistently participating in major textile shows in the country. Indo Intertex 2016 offered good scope for the manufacturer.

“This year’s Jakarta show has been very good for us. More than 70 existing and potential clients visited our booth. Top level management and decision making authorities from most of these companies spent quality time at our stall at Indo Intertex,” said Mr. Sivakumar of Elgi Ultra.

The business potential has been growing over a period, except last year which was stagnant due to sluggish yarn market. This year will prove better as mills are expecting the yarn sales to improve.

Elgi has demonstrated the features of the power saving spindle tapes (XT) and spinning technologists are keen on installing them these on their high-speed spinning machines and reap benefits.

Elgi has a good market share in flat transmission belts also and many customers go in for all types & makes of machines, including the latest high-speed open-end spinning & ring spinning machine (belt driven).

Picanol presentation

The 2016 edition of Indo Intertex was an ideal occasion for Picanol to show its newest Picanol rapier machine, the OptiMax-i, the successor to the already popular OptiMax model.

Mr. Tanim Chowdhury, General Manager, PT. Picanol Indonesia

“We had one demonstration machine weaving an Indonesian denim fabric at very high speed. The OptiMax-i was launched at ITMA Milan 2015 and was being shown for the very first time in Indonesia. We also displayed an airjet machine, the OMNIplus Summum, weaving an Indonesian sarung fabric (similar to a “lungi” in India) at a speed of over 1,000 rpm, which has never been seen before in Indonesia,” observed Mr. Tanim Choudhury, GM – PT. Picanol Indonesia.

This was highly remarkable given that the fabric requires multi-colour dyed yarn in warp and weft, a closed selvedge formed by the Air-Tuck in devices and yarns/beam preparation from an Indonesian textile factory. In fact, Picanol was the only high-end supplier to present both rapier and airjet machines at the exhibition and that too with yarns sourced from Indonesian textile companies and fabric design and preparation done in Indonesia itself.

“This not only demonstrates that Picanol machines are most suited for Indonesian yarns/fabrics and can perform at high levels of productivity and efficiency, but also our commitment to the textile industry in Indonesia and loyalty to our customers. We were very pleased with this year’s exhibition given the tremendous interest in our machines on display and the visitors being mainly owners/directors of textile companies. We managed to conclude some important deals, and even the machines on display were sold at the exhibition itself! With our office based in Bandung, Picanol is fully geared to provide best in class services and sales support for the Indonesian industry,” added Mr. Chowdhury during his interaction with The Textile Magazine.

Tex-Tech progressing ahead

During the event, we checked with the team at Tex Tech regarding their business in Indonesia, “We were supplying Spare parts and Retrofit kits to leading mills in Indonesia like PT.Indorama Group, PT. Sri Rejiki Group, PT. Pacific TexIndo and PT. Spin Mills group.” and when asked about the response of this years show, “Yes. The response was very good. We were able to conclude orders approximately for 40000$. The quality of customers were very good and it was a successful exhibition for us.” proudly mentioned Mr. Malliarjunan, MD – Tex Tech Industries.

During the show, Textech had displayed Unicombs, Top comb strips, Nippers, Brushes, Spiral clearer rollers, Spools and various plastic and aluminium spare parts for cotton combers in their booth at Indo Intertex 2016. “There is good business potential for our products in Indonesia. We expect to do a business of one hundred thousand dollars for the current fiscal.” added Mr. Malliarjunan.
