S.P. Oswal is new Textiles Committee Chairman

Mr. S.P. Oswal, Chairman, Vardhman Group, has taken over as Chairman, Textiles Committee, Mumbai. With his entrepreneurial drive, vision and leadership, the Vardhman Group in fact has the largest yarn manufacturing capacity in the country with over 8,50,000 spindles. It also has one of the largest fabric weaving plants and the most modern yarn and fabric processing facility in the country.

The group now employs over 22,000 persons at its various plants spread across five States in the country. It is also known for its professional management and has a strong track record of performance.

Besides being Chairman & Managing Director of Vardhman Textiles Ltd., Mr. Oswal is also heading as Chairman the other group companies like Vardhman Holdings Ltd., Vardhman Yarns and Threads Ltd., Vardhman Acrylics Ltd., Nimbua Greenfield (Punjab) Ltd., etc.

He is also Director, UTI Trustee Company Pvt. Ltd.; Member – Industrial Advisory Council, Government of Madhya Pradesh; Member, Board of Governors – Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar; and Chairman, Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Sangrur.

Mr. Oswal holds a Masters Degree in Commerce with Gold Medal from Panjab University and has over 44 years of experience in the textile industry. He has been conferred the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award by the President of India for his distinguished service in the field of trade and industry in 2010.
