Projectile weft insertion – reliable and controlled
The weft is guided in a controlled manner in every phase of
weft insertion: from weft transfer to the projectile, through
insertion into the shed, to beat-up.
Worldwide, there are
millions of projectiles in
operation 24 hours
a day
The projectiles grip re-
liably a wide variety of
threads, tapes or mono-
filaments and insert them
in the shed. Reflecting the
varying requirements for
different weft yarns, pro-
jectile grippers with vari-
ous clamping forces and
surface areas are availa-
ble. One outstanding fea-
ture of projectile technol
ogy is that the weft is
inserted without central
transfer, i.e. without addi-
tional acceleration and
braking. With this unique
insertion technology, the
P7300HP inserts all weft
yarns in a controlled man-
ner and with low yarn
strain, thus helping to en-
sure maximum reliabil-
ity in the production of
quality fabrics.
The electronic warp let-off
control guarantees constant
warp tension from beginning to
end of the warp.
Optionally, the P7300HP pro-
jectile weaving machine can be
equipped with a control system
for two, four or six weft colours.
Unique weaving
widths up to 655 cm
The P7300HP is avail-
able in nine working
widths, from 220 cm
to 655 cm. It is the
only weaving machine
for which 655 cm is a
standard width. This
has crucial advan-
tages in the production
of technical textiles.
For instance, it enables
agro- and geotextiles
to be produced in large
widths so that fewer
seams are required.
Minimizing yarn wast-
age – every selvedge
the way you need it
In both single- and multi-
panel weaving, every sel-
vedge can be tucked
by standard or inter-
mediate tucking units.
The width of the tucked
selvedges can be set
from 18 to 25 mm and
even to 35 mm. Accu-
rate weft length meas-
urement ensures that
there is no yarn wast
age. Instead of tucking
units, the P7300HP can
be equipped with de-
vices for producing leno
or melted selvedges.
In the case of leno sel-
vedges the Selvedge
Saver eliminates aux-
iliary selvedges, thus
economizing warp and
weft yarn – a saving that
translates into hard cash.
