In a landmark development for the Indian textile and apparel industry, two of the sector’s most respected players — Epic Group and Creative Group — have announced the formation of a strategic joint venture, launching a bold new identity: SPECTRA. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in strengthening India’s position as a key manufacturing hub in the global apparel supply chain.

The joint venture brings together the global manufacturing expertise of Epic Group, led by Chairman Mr. Ranjan Mahtani, and the deep-rooted textile legacy of Creative Group, under the leadership of Chairman Mr. Vijay Agarwal. The journey began with the signing of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 9, 2025, and has now taken a definitive leap forward with the formal signing of a shareholder agreement between the two companies.
SPECTRA will be backed by an initial investment of USD 15 million, with an ambitious vision of reaching a ₹500 crore (approximately USD 60 million) turnover in the coming years.
SPECTRA’s Flagship Project: India’s Largest Sustainable Denim & Bottoms Facility
The first initiative under the SPECTRA banner is the establishment of a state-of-the-art denim and bottoms manufacturing plant, which is set to become one of the largest of its kind in India. With a planned production capacity of 700,000 units per month, the facility will significantly scale up India’s manufacturing capabilities in the global denim segment.
This new facility is not just about size and scale—it also signals a forward-looking approach to sustainable and responsible manufacturing.
Built on a Foundation of Sustainability and Innovation
SPECTRA is being designed with sustainability as its cornerstone. The facility will be powered by green and renewable energy sources, reflecting the partners’ shared commitment to minimizing environmental impact.
The plant will also play a major role in employment generation. It is expected to create 3,000 jobs in its first phase, with plans to expand employment opportunities to 10,000 people over time. This initiative not only supports economic development but also aims to tap into India’s rich and skilled talent pool.
Additionally, SPECTRA aims to drive innovation in apparel manufacturing, setting new industry benchmarks in quality, speed, compliance, and sustainability. The collaboration is also focused on community development and inclusive growth, with an emphasis on long-term positive impact.
A Synergistic Partnership with Global Vision
The partnership between Epic Group and Creative Group brings together complementary strengths. Epic Group is globally recognized for its world-class manufacturing infrastructure and operational excellence, while Creative Group brings over five decades of domain expertise and deep industry relationships in India’s textile ecosystem.
Through SPECTRA, the joint venture aims to unlock significant value for customers, brands, and other stakeholders by offering high-quality, responsibly manufactured apparel at scale. This collaboration is also expected to help India play a larger role in the global value chain for denim and casual wear, particularly at a time when the world is seeking diversified and sustainable sourcing destinations.
With the creation of SPECTRA, Epic Group and Creative Group are not just forming a new company—they are laying the foundation for a new era of innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability in Indian apparel manufacturing.
