Amidst the rhythmic hum of machinery at the mill, Karthik Vijayakumar, the dynamic Executive Director of the mill, located in Aruppukottai, Tamil Nadu, shares insights into the adoption of Coimbatore-based Aspire Excel Automation’s products.
“We first installed a couple of autodoffers from Aspire Excel in 2020. Their performance exceeded our expectations, so we gradually increased to 11 ring frames—covering 11,500 spindles—and we are more than satisfied with their contribution this far,” he states.
A Perfect Fit for a Legacy Mill
Finding the right autodoffer was not without challenges. One of the main concerns for Karthik was space between RCC pillars in his sheds.
“Ours is a relatively old mill, built about 45 years ago. The narrow space between ring frames were a key constraint. Aspire Excel’s team understood the problem and custom designed auto doffer system, that fit seamlessly into our setup. From there, it was a smooth journey,” he notes.

Expanding the Partnership: Compact Spinning and Beyond
With the success of the autodoffers, SJV recently adopted Aspire Excel Automation’s EXCELspin Compact Spinning System.
“Aspire Excel compact spinning retrofit attachment was installed, just a month ago and resulted in instant success, with good consistency and performance, as compared to other systems. Aspire Excel’s compact spinning system is supportive and IMPACTFUL, on our capex budget outlay”, he says.
Encouraged by the results, the mill is gearing up, to add the compact system in 10 more frames. Aspiration doesn’t stop there. SJV is also eyeing other innovative solutions from Aspire Excel Automation’s portfolio.
“I recently saw Aspire Bobbin Transport System (BTS) at another mill and was impressed. We are considering to install it here soon, besides their automatic cone packing system.”
