In a significant step toward advancing India’s textile automation journey, Universal MEP Projects & Engineering Services Limited (UMPESL)—leaders in textile machinery and the exclusive representatives of Tajima Embroidery Machines in India—recently hosted the Tajima Embroidery Machine Seminar 2025 at New Delhi.

The event brought together a distinguished audience of manufacturers, designers, production heads, and embroidery professionals from across the country, all eager to explore how Tajima’s cutting-edge embroidery technology is shaping the future of textile embellishment.
Empowering India’s Embroidery Industry
Opening the session, Mr. Pradip Roy, Head of the Textile Machinery Division at UMPESL, welcomed participants and outlined the seminar’s purpose — to bridge the gap between India’s rich embroidery craftsmanship and the era of smart manufacturing.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Pradeep Bakshi, Ex-MD & CEO of Voltas Limited, who shared insights on India’s growing appetite for advanced textile automation. Mr. Nobumasa Asai, Department Head at Tajima Japan, extended his greetings to the audience, followed by a presentation from Mr. Hiroki Washimi, Sales Department, Tajima Japan, who showcased Tajima’s latest innovations. Mr. Karmaveer Singh Rathore, Head – Regional Operations & Tajima Product Head, provided an overview of the division’s growth journey, while Mr. Nizar Ali, Head of Post Spinning Division, introduced the Tajima India team and elaborated on the company’s future plans for the Indian market.
Showcasing Smart Embroidery Solutions
The seminar spotlighted Tajima’s latest technological breakthroughs, particularly the TMBR and TMEZ-SC series of embroidery machines. These models feature i-TM (Intelligent Thread Management) and DCP (Digitally Controlled Presser Foot) — two innovations that automatically adjust thread tension and presser foot height to deliver flawless embroidery on varied fabrics.
Live demonstrations captivated attendees, revealing capabilities such as multi-cording for diverse textures, smart bobbin changers, advanced touchscreen interfaces, and the use of TPU threads for heat-pressed applications. The Bird’s Nest Reducer and ESQ-C sequins system, compatible with sequins from 3mm to 9mm, showcased the versatility and precision that define Tajima machines.

Interactive Learning and Industry Exchange
Beyond the technology showcase, the seminar offered participants the opportunity to engage in technical sessions on design digitization, software integration, and maintenance best practices. Attendees interacted directly with Tajima engineers, exchanging ideas and exploring collaborative solutions to enhance productivity and quality in embroidery operations.

Driving Innovation and Collaboration
The event underscored the rapid modernization of India’s textile and apparel sector, where automation and smart machinery are key to competitiveness. Tajima’s commitment to supporting Indian manufacturers through training, localized service, and continuous innovation was well received by participants, who praised the brand for its focus on both creativity and operational excellence.
As one participant remarked, “Tajima machines are not just tools — they are enablers of creativity and precision.”
