In the dynamic world of textile manufacturing, sustainability and cost-efficiency are no longer options—they’re imperatives. For Tirupur-based Cotton Blossom India Pvt. Ltd., these principles have been woven into its fabric from day one. What began as a modest knitwear manufacturing venture with just 25 employees in 1997 has today grown into a powerhouse of 13 integrated units across Tamil Nadu, supported by over 3,000 employees.

A key factor behind this remarkable journey? Forward integration and a sharp focus on smart investments, according to Mr. P.Murugesan, Vice President of Cotton Blossom Spinning & Knitting Division.
“Right from the start, we believed in having control over our processes. We didn’t just want to manufacture garments—we wanted to control every stage from spinning to finishing,” he says. The company’s expansion reflects this vision: from its first garmenting unit in Tirupur, it added a processing unit in SIPCOT Perundurai, a spinning mill in Sungakarapalayam (Puliyampatti), and printing and embroidery facilities in Tirupur. Garmenting units in Vembur (Tuticorin district) and Aruppukottai (Virudhunagar district) further complete the supply chain.
But infrastructure alone isn’t enough in today’s competitive environment. Energy efficiency and cost control are vital levers in maintaining Cotton Blossom’s edge—and that’s where their partnership with Tesco Engineering Corporation began.

The Fan That Changed the Equation
In 2023, when Cotton Blossom began evaluating energy-saving options for their spinning mill, ventilation was a key area of focus. “We were concerned about excess power consumption,” recalls Mr. Murugesan. That’s when we came into contact with Mr. Devaganeshan, Senior Project Director of Tesco Engineering Corporation.”
Tesco’s reputation for high-efficiency industrial fans prompted the Cotton Blossom team to request a demo. “They installed one fan in our spinning unit. We wanted to monitor it for a month. But in just a week, we were impressed enough to place an order for 22 more,” says Mr. Murugesan.

The results were more than encouraging. The Tesco fans led to a 5% reduction in overall power consumption, translating to 1,327 units saved per day. “This means savings of approximately ₹3.65 lakh per month—or ₹44 lakh annually,” he explains.
ROI in Record Time
“Today, every machinery investment must offer tangible cost benefits,” says Mr. Murugesan. “Tesco’s fans have done exactly that.”
While most good equipment is expected to deliver return on investment (ROI) within six months, Cotton Blossom achieved it in just four. “We’ve already recommended Tesco’s fans to several others,” adds Mr. Murugesan.
Engineering with a Difference
One reason for Tesco’s growing popularity lies in its collaborative approach to product design and support. “Their design team operates right on the shop floor. This allows them to customize solutions based on our specific needs,” says Mr. Murugesan.
But it’s not just about design—it’s also about reliability. “We haven’t faced any issues so far. We follow their maintenance guidelines, and the fans continue to perform consistently,” he adds. The Tesco team also makes regular visits to ensure ongoing performance, which has built a high level of confidence in the partnership.
Looking Ahead
As Cotton Blossom charts its next phase of growth, the company is clear about one thing—Tesco will remain a trusted partner. “Their product is proven, and their approach is aligned with our values,” says Mr. Murugesan. “We’ve also heard they are working on a new waste collection system. We’ll certainly explore that once it’s launched.”
