A.Piovan partners Sagar Group for Indian market

A.Piovan, a leading player in the rubber compounding segment, participated for the first time in the India ITME show.

We at The Textile Magazine caught up with one of A.Piovan’s key spokespersons who offered a glimpse into the forthcoming plan for the Indian market. India is a potential market for the company which has signed on the Sagar Group as its Indian agency this year. “This new partnership will help us in developing our Indian market. This will help give our customers a good aftersales service,” said Ing. Laura Capovilla, R&D Manager, A.Piovan. “We are quite excited to have the possibility to meet all our Indian customers and potential ones in this big event.”

All belted out for desi consumers

The company showcased its range of Sanfor rubber belts at the India ITME event. The rubber compound of the Sanfor Belts is manufactured in-house. This enables the company to choose the appropriate raw materials, besides also monitoring the manufacturing process. The rubber is customized and innovated to avoid possibilities of bubbles and impurities.

Notwithstanding that, A.Piovan has created a line of pre-shrinking rubber belts based on laboratory simulations and performance inspections in prominent textile companies.

Besides these belts, there are other attractions as well. “This year we will present a new rubber compound specially conceptualized for viscose and knitting fabrics. Being easier to dry, it doesn’t leave behind watermarks on fabrics,” explained Ing. Capovilla.

Global footprint

A.Piovan has made its global presence and its products are present in many countries through a well-laid-out commercial network. The R&D team has developed a line of technological solutions like rubber sleeves for rollers and some endless rubber belts. Rubber roller coverings are particularly suited for international companies to use Italian quality products at highly competitive prices. The more so as the products have been envisioned to have a long life because of a combination of various factors like an extraordinary rubber-steel joint, elasticity of the covering and chemical resistance.

The Italian connect

A.Piovan, an Italian firm located near Venice, is a family-owned company now run by the second generation. A 40-member team produces roller coverings and technical articles in rubber, polyurethane and silicone in a covered surface of 5,900 sqm.

The company has its ability to take the rubber manufacturing process a few notches higher as it has a complete know-how of rubber compounding and the manner in which rubber products need to be manufactured. Coupled with this, comes a diverse portfolio spanning many industrial fields which has resulted in wide exposure. End-users can look forward to customized potential solutions from the technical department.

A.Piovan was established in 1979. The initial years were spent in manufacturing rubber roller coverings. Sheer hard work and business acumen of the company team led its founders on and the company emerged as a major supplier of tannery machines before diversifying into other sectors.

What makes the company tick? “I think that the most critical factor is the communication. I strongly believe that keep contact between customer and supplier help both parties in avoiding degeneration of technical problems and have best performance from the product sold. When customers consider the supplier as a partner and consultant, it is easier to have a happy relationship,” reasoned Ing. Capovilla.
