As part of a campaign to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship, we are starting a column on the small and medium enterprises in the textile component manufacturing sector that have managed to establish their presence felt in the industry.
In this issue, we are covering our discussions with Mr. T. Pandian, Proprietor of Best Top Rollers (BTR), which is a leading supplier of textile rollers to spinning mills all over India. The company offers rollers for Rierter & LMW – combers and drawframes, lap formers, blowroom and carding spares.
Prior to starting BTR, Mr. Pandian worked with Textool in Coimbatore and acquired varied experience across all departments like purchasing, quality maintenance, marketing and after-sales service. With the rich experience gained at Textool, he decided to start his own venture, Best Top Rollers, in 2008 for manufacturing and supply of top rollers for combers and drawframes.
Initially it was of course a big challenge for him. However, he stood steadfast against the critical days with grit and determination. By now, with his hard work and perseverance, he has built up BTR on a solid foundation and regularly supplies top rollers.
BTR registered a turnover of Rs. 50 lakhs in 2013 and is targeting a turnover of Rs. 75 lakhs for the current year. Mr. Pandian not only supplies top rollers to all major textile mills across India, but is also exporting to different Asian textile giants. The company believes in offering quality products at an affordable price, backed with excellent customer service.
BTR products boast reduced maintenance cost, lower power consumption and wastage, all resulting in higher productivity. Based on the current rate of growth, BTR has plans to add new products to the existing range, like comber brushes, cleaning brushes, flocked clearer rollers and wax rollers for all types of auto coners.
