Bookings galore for first edition of GTTES in January

In today’s economy, people look for the source of competitive advantage more than ever before. Technological advancements and innovations have been extensively put to use across the entire textile value chain. It was the India ITME Society that laid the foundation 34 years ago for an ideal platform for exhibitors to nurture the trust and confidence across the textile supply chain.

Exhibitions can be seen as a large investment, particularly by small and medium-sized businesses. But by investing in the short term, you can reap the benefits in the long term, turning the leads collected at an exhibition into loyal customers.

To get the most out of your investment, it’s important to pick the right exhibitions and conferences. The ITME Society, for more than three decades, has played a major role in the growth of the textile as well as textile engineering industry in the country. Apart from being the organizers of the prestigious India-ITME exhibition once every four years, the committee has decided to come out with the first edition of GTTES to be held at the Mumbai International Expo Centre during January 20-22, 2015. The show is expected to cater to the post-spinning segments of the value chain. The organizers have stressed the need for a smaller show which would enable SMEs from the country and abroad to market their businesses face to face.

The event will showcase technological developments in the machinery and components field and will serve as a platform for exchange of international products and ideas. Since it’s a non-spinning show, the focus is expected to be more on weaving, knitting and processing and allied activities.

“GTTES offers a golden opportunity to the exhibitors and textile professionals to interact and decide on new investments,” stressed Mr. Sanjiv Lathia, Chairman, India-ITME Society. “It is taking place on the threshold of a major textile transformation. It will spur textile magnates to identify and go for investment in high-speed, productivity-oriented, environmentally-friendly, cost-effective equipments in their search for measures to face fierce global competition.”

The organizers have left no stones unturned towards promoting this important event and inviting participants either as exhibitors or as visitors. In order to attract business visitors from India and abroad and to further the brand image of the exhibition, a number of measures have been initiated by the new team at India ITME.

Online registrations for business visitors are pouring in from different parts of the globe. The organizers have even proposed to initiate a forum within the textile vertical to provide better mileage for the domestic and international exhibitors.

“GTTES would provide a unique networking platform to both Indian and foreign participants. They help in promotion, marketing and publicity efforts of the participating companies. Exhibitions and trade shows have always been a starting point for joint ventures and tie-ups, and they also help bring investments into the country. And we believe this new initiative could open doors for many companies that couldn’t afford to participate at our bigger version”, said Ms. Seema Srivastava in an exclusive interview to The Textile Magazine.

Since the first announcement, GTTES has been very well received by small and medium scale companies, and orders are flowing in from South and South-East Asia, China, the Middle East and Europe, apart from major bookings made within the country. The show is expected to give more weightage for post-spinning activities like weaving, knitting, dye & processing, garmenting and allied areas, including dyes & chemicals, fibre and technical textiles.

The show will cover an area of 12,000 sq. metres with two halls devoted to machinery and accessories. With more than 180 confirmed participants within a span of a few months, the organizers have announced their plan to accommodate as many as possible at the inaugural show.

“India is self-reliant in the textile sector, from growing raw material to spinning and creating value-added products. Our textile products have earned the accolades from international markets and are respected for quality across the globe. This decade belongs to us,” said Mr. Lathia when asked about the future of the Indian textile industry.

It’s important to build new business opportunities all the time, while keeping the current customers happy. Attending an event like GTTES would offer chances to further expand business with an expansion of the clientele.
