Among all the innovations explored and implemented in the industry, the need of the hour is devising solutions that would enable companies to become sustainable along with being profitable and responsible as they grow. The textile industry has always been witness to ground-breaking developments whenever a need has occurred. And catering to their environmental need, Arvind Ltd. installed their first zero discharge effluent treatment plant for its facility in 1997. Continuing on the learnings of this venture, Arvind Envisol was launched in 2012.

As one of the strongest players in the industry and a technology-driven entity, the leaders at Arvind Envisol were able to identify inefficiencies in technology and, with their research and development and innovations, bridged the gap between necessity and solutions. The company started by providing solutions through its patented, Mechanical Vapour Recompression (MVR) technology that aims to tackle corrosion, scaling and cost issues. The technology has not only proved efficient but is implemented at the lowest possible cost, globally. The company now provides 100% effluent treatment facility for textile plants.

It also has an upper hand in providing these solutions to sectors like pharmaceuticals, metal and food and beverage. Additionally, Arvind Envisol represents Hydranautics, a US-based supplier of process designed membranes that make the task of zero liquid discharge attainable. Arvind Envisol also has in-house MBR manufacturing facility in association with the world’s leading technology provider, Memstar. With the aid of such latest technologies, the company provides a complete range of solutions for effluent treatment and recycling. Overall, these help in saving power, reduce carbon footprints, and lower the customer’s cost.

Arvind Envisol’s treatment plants are compact in design and the technology also serves the purpose of sludge treatment or solid waste management. The company has always gone one step ahead in taking care of its customers’ requirements for which it provides service until after installation of the plant.

Highlighting the importance of this step, Dinesh Yadav, CEO and Director of Arvind Envisol, says: “We understand that the role of the solution provider does not end with the installation of the technology because when given into wrong hands it does not serve its purpose. We extend our services to operating and maintaining the plant until the customer is satisfied and his workforce becomes self-reliant.”

The company also undertakes annual maintenance contracts through which it carefully assesses the performance of the plant and implements the repairs required, thus making it easier for the customer to get the correct parts and filters for the plant. The company has completed 85 MVR installations in India and a total of 150+ projects that have made it a reliable partner for environmental solutions. Its range of treatments includes water recycling, reverse osmosis and evaporation. It uses 75% of in-house technology developed with a deep understanding of the market’s needs combined with technological input in the form of world-class membranes and MBR technology.

There is a constant streak of innovating and integrating new technologies and clients through which Arvind Envisol aims to become an integrated solutions partner for the global textile and other industries as well. One of its most impactful projects was carried out for an enterprise in Ethiopia. The company established a zero liquid discharge plant with an effluent treatment capacity of 8 MLD and 3 MLD of sewage treatment. Word about this unforeseen advancement reached the country’s government and eventually led to the company signing a MoU for increasing the country’s waste management capacity to 45 MLD.

This was an indicator that commercial operations can be done with minimal harm to the environment. “Arvind Envisol was established with the intention of having an impact in improving the prevailing environmental conditions. That’s why we call ourselves an environmental solutions provider,” Yadav says.

Arvind Envisol is one of the companies expertly catering to the needs of the ecosystem along with the requirements of its customers. In India, it has enabled the treatment of 55 MLD waste through various projects. After achieving accolades in the areas of liquid effluent treatment, the company’s current focus is on solid waste treatment and developing new technologies for reducing the textile industry’s carbon footprint.

To that purpose it is already offering gasification, bio-gasification and co-processing of the various solid waste managed by the State municipal corporations and industries. These solutions are all turned from waste to value instead of waste to worse! The company’s in-house capacity itself is commendable – 30 MLD divided between three complexes. The group is on its path of becoming completely water neutral as 20% of water is lost in the process, which by amount would form a large chunk when observed from a wider angle.

Besides, most of the untreated sewage water is discharged in the water bodies, which is a major cause behind India’s water crisis. To further contribute to reducing the environmental burden, the company buys wastewater from the city’s municipal bodies which is then treated and used by the company in its processes. This serves the dual objective of reducing the efforts of these organisations in collecting, transporting and treating or filtering the city’s sewage and also solves the problem of sludge collection.

Arvind Envisol is moving ahead with passion and commitment towards improving the environmental situation and aspires to become a zero solid waste discharge facility as well. The company has been posting 20% growth annually which is the reward of having undisputed expertise in their segment and the powerful vision of the management. “We aim to make Arvind Envisol a complete environmental solutions provider, including verticals that would address the dire need for devising solutions to counter air pollution by the textile industry,” Yadav states.
