Filatex capacity expansion in progress

Filatex India Ltd. (FIL) has announced that the capacity expansion at its existing unit in Dahej in Gujarat is progressing well. The company successfully commenced commercial production of 100 TPD of polyester fully drawn yarn in March last and is also in the process of capacity expansion of the value-added product – draw-textured yarn (DTY).

Further, the process of installing 40 texturising machines is progressing as per schedule. Upon completion of this expansion, the manufacturing capacity of DTY will increase by 200 TPD.

Twelve texturising machines have been installed, on which production of 60 TPD has started. Installation of the remaining machines is likely to be completed by September 30.

Filatex India is one of the major filament yarn manufacturers with integrated manufacturing facilities at Dahej (Gujarat), Dadra (Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli) and Noida (Uttar Pradesh). It specialises in products such as polyester filament yarn, polypropylene filament yarn, fully drawn yarn, draw textured yarn, textile grade chips, narrow customized fabrics and monofilament yarns. The company currently has capacity to manufacture 600 TPA of Monofilament Yarns, 60,800 TPA of polyester chips (net of captive consumption of 22,300 TPA for manufacture of POY), 78,500 TPA of polyester POY (net of captive consumption of 33,200 TPA for manufacture of DTY), 48,200 TPA of fully drawn yarn (net of captive consumption of 2400 TPA for manufacture of narrow woven fabrics), 41,900 TPA of draw textured & polypropylene crimped yarn and 2,400 TPA of narrow woven fabrics.
