Focus on Indian Spinning Industry – Kallam Spinning Mills

Kallam Spinning Mills Ltd. (KSML) has operated at 56,400 spindles which was its full capacity during the FY16. Its ring spinning machine will continue to be the most widely used spinning process in short staple spinning, since it has considerable advantages over the new spinning processes.

Kallam started commercial production of its spinning unit on March 22, 1995, with 12,096 spindles. It today operates 56,400 spindles of ring spinning, out of which 31,488 spindles are compact. Kallam keeps diversifying its range of products in order to cater to the large number of customers across the globe. Its product range: Ring spinning yarn: Ne.30s to Ne.80s combed warp / compact, TFO yarn: Ne.30/2 to Ne.80/2 combed warp / compact. It produces 420 tons of ring spinning yarn per month.

Today most of the spinning is done using break or open end spinning. KSML established its open end unit in 2009-10 with an initial capacity of 1248 rotors. The total rotors capacity of open end unit was later raised to 2912.

KSML continues to diversity its products and extend its customer reach. Its product range: OE yarn: Ne10s to Ne20s, TFO yarn: Ne OE 20s/2. Its production capacity is 16,450 kg/day.
