Groz-Beckert to present extensive product and service portfolio at Techtextil

Techtextil and Texprocess will take place at the Frankfurt Exhibition Center from April 23 to 26, 2024. Texprocess is regarded as the leading trade fair for the apparel industry, while Techtextil presents the entire spectrum of technical textiles, nonwovens, functional apparel textiles and textile technologies. Groz-Beckert will be presenting its extensive product and service portfolio from the areas of Knitting, Weaving, Felting, Carding and Sewing in Hall 12.0, Stand B80 at Techtextil.

Knitting

The Knitting product area is going to present the continuously growing module portfolio of the warp knitting product group. The modules enable an individual and diverse range of applications including easy needle handling. The system parts have been supplemented by the newly developed guide needle for piezo jacquard machines. The new needles are characterized by quick assembly and ensure an optimized textile structure. The new guide needle is presented with the specially developed “JacquART Visualizer”, which visually and interactively simulates the function and movement of the system parts.

Weaving

Weaving reeds have a decisive influence on fabric quality and the efficiency of the weaving process. Their quality and variety are correspondingly relevant. Groz-Beckert’s Weaving product area offers a large number of different reeds that are optimized for the requirements of a wide range of applications.

The division recently expanded its reed portfolio to include special technical weaving reeds. The new reeds make it possible to supply customers who produce fabrics with high densities and are suitable for both wire and synthetic fabrics. The weaving reeds are used in the production of special fabrics, for example, in technical filtration, membrane technology, solar cells or touchscreens. The reeds are produced using the most modern manufacturing methods in compliance with the highest quality standards, thus guaranteeing high and consistent fabric quality.

Felting (Nonwovens)

In the Felting product area, the new Groz-Beckert needle dispensing system will be the focus of the trade fair presentation. It is part of the product area’s “digital ecosystem”, which supports nonwovens producers in automating and optimizing their production processes.

In the area of felting needles, two innovations will be presented to visitors: a new barb shape for felting needles and the Groz-Beckert felting needle module. The new barb design has been specifically developed for needling highly abrasive fibers in order to achieve delayed wear. The barb shape also reduces clogging of the barbs, for example when needling bentonite mats.

The Groz-Beckert felting needle module was developed for the innovative MicroPunch technology. The felting needles from Groz-Beckert are embedded as a module in a plastic mold. As modules, they make the new intensive needling technology, which was specifically developed for light grammages, possible in the first place. The needles are characterized by very high deformation resistance. As a module, they also offer new dimensions in needle density. Assembly and replacement of the modules are particularly economical.

Carding

The Carding product area will present various new and further developments of products for the nonwovens industry. Highlights include the world’s finest interlocking wire for a reduced risk of a crash as well as new Groz-Beckert InLine SiroLock™ plus types for a more consistent carding result thanks to special geometries.

The comprehensive range of services offered by the Carding division will also play a role at the exhibition. All facets, from sales and service to application advice, will be highlighted digitally.

Sewing

Various products and solutions for the sewing industry will be presented by the Sewing product area. In addition to the needle, the focus will be on various topics relating to the sewing process, such as compliance support and the transfer of application knowledge.

With its patented INH (Ideal Needle Handling) Quality Management, Groz-Beckert offers sewing customers a solution for the handling of sewing machine needles in the production process and for seamless, digital documentation of all needle changes and breakages. Under the motto “Smart. Compliant. Digital.”, INH was recently developed into an integrated platform that combines various hardware and software components.

New components have been added to the existing ones, such as the needle dispensing trolley, the needle return box, the “INH@Site” app and the “INH@Office” administration software. The “INH@Stock” and “INH@Routine” software now enable automated and digital management of needle stocks as well as the planning and implementation of regular needle changes. The software can be integrated into customers’ existing IT systems. INH thus offers a digital and compliant solution that increases efficiency and ensures transparency.

Groz-Beckert will also be presenting its video format “Groz-Beckert Sewing” and the “Needle Finder”. With the video format, experts from Groz-Beckert impart specialist knowledge in short explanatory videos about industrial sewing and the sewing machine needle. The Needle Finder is another interactive tool that is available in the Sewing Customer Portal. Using numerous product examples, it shows needle recommendations for different seams and applications.

In terms of needles, the Sewing product area will be focusing on its special application needles at the exhibition: SANTM. The sewing machine needles in the SANTM series have been specially developed for demanding sewing operations. The SAN 5.2TM is particularly suitable for sewing technical textiles such as airbags thanks to its increased stability and secure loop pick-up. The SAN 6TM, on the other hand, offers high process reliability when processing woven fabrics such as denim. Both the SANTM 5.2 and the SANTM 6 are equipped with a GEBEDURTM coating, which protects the needles from wear and damage, especially in the point area.

The slim yet dimensionally stable SANTM 10 is used for sewing fine knitted and woven fabrics. The even slimmer SANTM 10 XS is perfect for extremely fine or critical materials. Thanks to its extremely slim shape, it offers maximum protection against material damage.
