Garware-Wall Ropes Ltd. (GWRL), a global manufacturer of technical textiles, with its presence in around 75 countries, has announced that it has secured CE certification for its polypropelene geotextile range of products which would enable the company to further strengthen its international presence by seamlessly circulating its products across 30 countries of the European Economic Area (EEA).

“CE”, the abbreviation of the French phrase “Conformité Européene”, literally means “European Conformity”, a mandatory marking for certain products and acts as a trade passport for undertaking sales in EEA.

The CE marking brings in a huge breakthrough for GWRL as it enables the company to comply with a set of requirements and procedures in designing and manufacturing, thereby eliminating certain conflicting national regulations. The certification also comes in as a huge assurance that the products are of the highest safety standard which, in turn, reduces damage and liability claims.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Tiru Kulkarni, Vice President – GEO Division, GWRL, said: “Being able to add the CE certification to our capabilities is a great source of pride for us. The commercial recognition will allow us to penetrate further into the European markets, thereby extending our international footprint. Our products are of the highest standard, and with this breakthrough we are endeavoring a promising outlook for growth in the coming years. The success in the current audit has opened doors to other GWRL product range, and we are looking forward to replicating similar success stories in the future.”

The designation received from the Institute Of Testing And Certification, Plc., (ITC) of the Czech Republic was based on the results of a series of test procedure that commenced in December 2014 and which involved various challenges such as sample preparations, internal and external lab testing and audits, among others.
