“Healthy discontent is prelude to progress”

In response to the concern expressed “Why India lags behind?” on page 10 of July 2010 edition of The Textile Magazine, I would like to say “Healthy discontent is prelude to progress”.

India ITME Society is making conscious efforts to promote not only textile machinery exports from India, but also efforts are on to enhance brand image of India as the Textile and textile engineering hub.

India ITME Society is taking bold step now of constructing its own exhibition centre in near future to cater to large industrial exhibitions and other international events.  Steps are being taken to improve exhibition management, to improve communication, coordination and event promotion as well, which in turn we hope, will attract many international events to India.

India ITME Society is striving to create a unified and strong platform for textile and textile engineering industry for India in global arena, one such effort being facilitating Indian textile machinery pavilion in Indee Colombia engineering  exhibition to be held in October 2010 at Bogota, Colombia.

Gandhiji said: “Constant development is the law of life”.

Accordingly, India ITME Society is taking interest and working towards bringing industry needs to research institutes, to raise the bar on quality standards, to encourage innovations and technology through research and development.  Our vision is to play a pivotal role in strengthening the Indian Textile Engineering Industry by facilitating research through scholarship and sponsorships, exchange of knowledge through internship program with foreign universities and research institutes, technology transfer and foreign investment in the Sector.

The Mission of India ITME Society is to aid, stimulate, promote, develop, encourage and support trade & commerce with a focus on Textile Engineering & allied industries through exhibitions and conferences, thus propagating the cause of Textile Engineering Industry at national and international level.

We are committed to our mission and are working closely with industry associations viz., TMMA & ITAMMA towards unity, strength, growth and prestige of Indian textile engineering industry world wide.
