Himatsingka maintains growth momentum with full capacity utilisation

Himatsingka, a vertically integrated home textile major, reported consolidated revenues of Rs. 1,689.43 crores in 2012-13 against Rs. 1,428.69 crores in the previous year, amounting to a growth of 18.3 per cent. Consolidated EBITDA for the year was higher at Rs. 166.83 crores (Rs. 147.62 crores), a growth of 13 per cent. Consolidated net profit for the year was Rs. 57.32 crores (Rs. 33.06 crores), a growth of 73.4 per cent.

The Rs. 2,000-crore Himatsingka Group is a vertically integrated home textile major with a global footprint. The group focuses on the manufacture, retail and distribution of home textile products. On the manufacturing front, it operates amongst the largest capacities in the world for upholstery fabrics, drapery fabrics and bed linen products.

Spread across Asia, Europe and North America, the group’s retail and wholesale distribution divisions carry some of the most prestigious brands in the home textile space and cater to private label programs of major retailers across these geographies.

With a team of over 4,500 people, the group continues to expand its reach and build capacities in the home textile space.

Retail and distribution business

Distribution revenues in North America from brands, including Calvin Klein Home, Barbara Barry Klein Home and Barbara Barry in addition to private label lines, grew by 22.1 per cent to Rs. 1,419.91 crores against Rs. 1,162.89 crores in the corresponding previous year.

Distribution revenues in Europe represented by the “Bellora” brand showed a reduction of 23.7 per cent to Rs. 88.66 crores from Rs. 116.19 crores. Distribution revenue in India / Middle East / South-East Asia, as represented through the Atmosphere brand, grew 8.5 per cent to Rs. 51.78 crores from Rs. 47.73 crores in the previous year.

Manufacturing revenues represented by the Drapery/Upholstery and Bedding Divisions grew by 9.8 per cent to Rs. 714.47 crores (Rs. 650.43 crores).
