Mr. Thirupathi, Managing Director, Indo Texnology, was enthusiastic about the company’s participation in ITME 2016 when he said: “We have been participating in ITME since 2012. It is important to us because it happens once in four years and almost all the leading stakeholders of the industry attend the event. We have been meeting customers from India as well as several neighboring countries at the event.”

Mr. Thirupathi added that visitors can see the demonstration of the latest versions of its product range at the company stall.

Asked about what gives Indo Texnology a competitive edge, Mr. Thirupathi stated: “We are unique in this field of automation to have conceived from scratch each of these solutions and pioneered the development, field trial and commercialisation. We have had a huge experience in the application and actual performance. We can figure out an optimal solution for any situation / configuration – whether it is a new mill, old mill, small, large, Grieg yarn, dyed yarn, or whatever the case may be. We thoroughly analyze and find out what the exact requirement is. We have expertise in Industrial Engineering elements of the spinning process and apply it to each of our enquiry. We don’t merely offer a product, we study the feasibility and guide our customers on what to expect. Sometimes we even refuse our customers’ requests in case there is no significant saving.

Mr. Thirupathi also noted that most mills have good machines these days. What makes the real difference is the process efficiency and control. Indo Texnology’s Automation Solutions does exactly this. It helps in saving manufacturing cost and bringing the process under control, improving the overall efficiency and consistency. What marks the company off from the others from an end user’s point of view is the combination of productivity, quality and reduced cost of manufacturing.

Responding to a question about the kind of visitors the company targets, Mr. Thirupathi said: “We usually meet most of most of the customers ourselves. At ITME 2016, we meet our customer friends and of course those few of them whom haven’t had a chance to meet yet.”

Indo Texnology’s major customers include Vardhman, Rajapalayam Mills, SCM – Chennai Silks, Welspun, RRD – Best Group, Loyal, Mahima, RSWM, Mohan Spin, and ST Cotex. The company has a well-trained team for after-sales support. It recently set up an exclusive facility for manufacture of automatic bailing machines as part of its expansion plan.

He said that 2016 has not been good for the textile industry. However, given the Indian industry’s inherent advantages of local cotton, technical expertise, availability of manpower at a reasonable cost, and the capability to build our own machinery, he is hopeful that a turnaround is around the corner.

“China is slowing down. They are shifting their focus away from exports and towards domestic consumption. This is an opportunity for us to fill the vacuum”, added Mr. Thirupathi.

Concluding the interaction on an optimistic note, Mr. Thirupathi said that, thanks to the Government’s policy initiatives like FTAs with various countries, GST, and a special package for the textile industry, the going would be good in the medium to long term.
