LMW launches Rayo rings for high-speed spinning

Mr. Balamuralikrishna, General Manager, LMW

Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd. (LMW), the totally integrated spinning system supplier with over 30 million spindles in operation, has launched a new series of rings called Rayo rings.

Launched at the TEXFAIR show held recently in Coimbatore, these rings are designed with cutting-edge technologies for high-speed spinning. Engineered with features such as no running-in, increased micro hardness, higher wear resistance, reduced coefficient of friction, improved corrosion resistance and higher adhesion strength, they provide holistic spinning solutions.

The ring doesn’t require a running-in. Hence it can be operated on high speeds right from the first day. This ensures better productivity and utilization of the machine for the customer, says Mr. Balamuralikrishna, General Manager, Lakshmi Machine Works.

Normally rings take a week to 10 days to start operating on high speeds. To that extent there is loss of productivity for the customers. This wastage can be completely avoided with the launch of Rayo rings which are expected to give a life of five years for cotton yarn and three-five years for synthetic yarn applications, he adds.

Technology has developed multi-fold, and the spinning industry has also witnessed advancements in technologies and automation to meet the challenges facing the industry. Spinning machineries have been developed over the years to cater to the needs of the market. Spinning components are designed with a host of contemporary technologies for producing quality yarn at competitive cost.

LMW also exhibited Formula Series cots and aprons and spindles, top rollers, flyers and change gears.

The Rayo ring has been developed in-house by LMW. The company has separate infrastructure for manufacturing rings and spindles, and most of the capacity is used only for captive consumption.

“LMW has been developing this product for over 2 years and extensive testing has been done. This will be the technology for the future and will help optimize productivity levels in the textile industry”, says Mr. Balamuralikrishna.
