Century Textiles and Industries Limited was incorporated in 1897.Birla Century, a state-of-the-art, vertically integrated plant, was set up in 2008-2009 at Jhagadia, Bharuch, in the state of Gujarat.

Production Capacity
Birla Century is equipped with latest cutting and sewing machines with a capacity to stitch 2 lakh sets per month and latest value addition such as Fegotting and Merrowing, Pintuck and different type of hem treatments.
The company has over 100,000 spindles producing 5,000 tonnes of yarn annually in the count range of 40s to 200s in singles and doubles for own consumption. Over 300 airjet and rapier looms produce 25 million metres of fabrics annually and can process 36 million metres annually upto 130” greige fabric to get 120” finish width.

Birla Century supplies to many international players that includes Royale Linen, Ralph Lauren, DKNY, Belk and US Polo.It has also started approaching retailers and brands in USA, U.K., Australia for strengthening the business of bed linen products.

Capacity Expansion
To further strengthen its position and to cater to the market demand of fine denier in Continuous Spun Yarn, eight Core Spun Yarn (CSY) machines have been commissioned during the year, thus a total of 50 CSY machines are in the production line. During the year, capacity of the doubling and twisting unit has been enhanced from 90 tonnes per month to 150 tonnes per month. Additional capacity for Zero Twist Rayon Tyre Yarn was commissioned by adding 72 winding position during the second half of the year.
