Marzoli looks to strengthen presence in India

Marzoli is steadily strengthening its presence in the Indian market. The company, which has established a full-fledged assembly and service facility near Bangalore, had a significant participation in India-ITME where it exhibited the FT6DE, a fully-updated version of its market-leading roving frame, along with the MTR transport system. It also presented its software platforms for the optimization of the entire spinning process, YarNet and MRM.

The FT6DE represents an updated version of Marzoli’s market-leading roving frames. The drives for the drafting system, the flyers, the spindles and the bobbin rail are independent and coordinated by the central CPU. This simplifies the machine, guarantees perfect coordination, reduces the number of components and lowers friction, vibrations and mechanical wear.

The FT6DE that was on display at India ITME was equipped with Marzoli’s auto-doffer, the simplest and most reliable auto-doffing system available on the market today. However, this machine can also be configured for semi-automatic doffing. In this case there is no auto-doffer: the machine after reaching the end of bobbin formation stops, the bobbin rail lowers and tilts out for easy bobbin collection. With the release of the FT6E-FT7E series there is also a third option for doffing: the pre-arrangement for automatic doffing upgrade. The bobbin rail, instead of tilting out, lowers and slides out horizontally, just like in the automatic-doffing version. This way the client can undertake a cost-efficient upgrade to the automatic version at any time: all he has to do is to install the doffer rail.

The higher number of spindles, Marzoli roving frames can reach 224 (110mm gauge) and 168 spindles (130mm gauge), allows to reduce investment and operational costs while boosting productivity per machine. The roving sensors, one for each spinning position, allow to immediately detect any roving break and promptly stop the machine, even in case of roving overlap. These sensors also make suction on the roving frame not necessary. This, along with the IE3 premium efficiency motors installed on the machine, allows to save up to 4 Kwh during production operations.

The Indian spinning industry has gone through challenging times: the sector’s overcapacity, as highlighted by many experts in the field, has reduced the margins on yarn sales, and international conditions are making exporting tougher than before. With that said, India is the second super-power in the spinning industry and has all the factors necessary to do well in the international scenario, namely raw material, knowhow and labor. The initiatives of the Government will also likely boost demand of yarn both domestically and internationally.

Hence, it is fundamental that the Indian spinning industry continues to upgrade its technology to overcome international competition and exploit opportunities. This means in particular to invest in state-of-the-art-machinery that allows to reduce yarn major production costs: cotton waste, energy consumption and labor. This is what it is likely to happen in the Indian spinning industry in the next few years.

Moreover, it will be important that technological advantage can be maintained over time. This means that spinning mills should choose partners that can provide a good level of service to maintain their machinery.
