Manjeet Singh Bakshi, CEO, MSBC

The company is the only machine supplier in the field that can provide a complete range in the supply chain and use its consulting experience to create value for its customers in India and across many countries

MSB Consulting (MSBC) has emerged as a one-stop solution for home textile and rugs and carpet machinery in recent times. The company, that has gained customers’ trust in several key global markets, now looks forward to further improving its growth momentum in the near future. In an exclusive chat, CEO Manjeet Singh Bakshi, while introducing the company, said: “MSB Consulting is a very young company started in January 2010. In the last 12 years MSBC has grown with customers in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Middle East, South East Asia and Australia. We operate in 28 countries and service our customers to their satisfaction. Our main focus is automation in home textiles and the rugs and carpet industries. Most of the leading manufacturing companies in the field of home textiles and rugs and carpet are our clients.”

Key Strengths

Given that the textile machinery segment is highly competitive with solutions available at every price point, why should a customer look to work with MSB? Replying to this question, Bakshi explained: “Our strength is our deep know-how and consulting approach which helps in gaining a customer’s trust. Our repeat business is as good as 70%. Our consulting arm helps technology sales. We not only supply equipment to our customers but also ensure we make them run and hand-hold the client’s team to ensure a machine’s efficiency and productivity. This makes us different from our competitors and gives us an edge over other suppliers in the industry.”

“We are the only machine supplier in the field that can provide a complete range in the supply chain and use our consulting experience to create value for our customers. Through our consulting knowledge we sell new businesses to our existing customers. We sell customised solutions and value to our customers due to our deep knowledge in the domain. We don’t sell boxes like our competitors in the market do. As far as after-sales service is concerned, we are one of the best in the industry,” he added.

The government has announced the PLI scheme, PM Mitra and many more to further boost textile manufacturing. The textile minister has set an ambitious target of achieving USD 350 billion by 2030 for the Indian textile industry. Sharing his views on what is the kind of investment that would be required in new projects, plant and machinery that would be required to achieve such goals, Bakshi said, “We are in the field of automation and the Indian textile industry must be supported with government schemes where companies can set up new plants and expand their existing plants with latest state-of-the-art technology to produce higher volumes with good quality at a lower cost.”

“If we have to compete with neighbouring countries and China in home textiles, we have to use more and more cut-and-sew automation. For the rugs and carpet industry, Indian manufacturers have to use the latest machines to beat Turkey, China, the US and other competing countries. Indian textile corporates have to come up in machine-made carpet as there is huge scope. Machine-made carpets like artificial grass, carpet tile, wall-to-wall carpets and area rugs have huge market potential. India is already producing bath rugs to a great extent,” he added.

Positive Outlook

Going into the details on how MSB is planning to leverage on its experience and close relationship with customers in taking advantage of the emerging growth opportunity, Bakshi said: “It’s a constant endeavour to add newer technology into our portfolio and we have been quite successful in doing so. As said before, we are young but hungry for business and creating value (as our tagline says) for our customers. In order to adapt to the growing manufacturing needs of our customers, we continuously look for global suppliers to get associated with us and this ultimately helps the industry to grow.”

Sharing his opinion on which segments within the textile industry are expected to show promising growth in the coming years and the strategy that the company has to cater to the emerging requirements, Bakshi noted: “We feel manmade fibres (rugs and carpet), technical textiles and home textiles will continue to grow in India and we are well-experienced to cater our best to the industry with our deep knowledge, know-how, team and collective experience.”

Meanwhile, automation and digitisation are increasingly becoming important. The pandemic has further accelerated the need for these solutions. Highlighting the way in which MSBis helping customers in automating and digitising their processes, Bakshi observed: “We are experts and are known for automation with our customers. We also do data integration which helps customers take timely decisions in their production area.”

After–Sales Support

Going into details regarding the company’s strength in the after-sales service support front, Bakshi mentioned: “As mentioned before, our service team is the backbone of MSBC and we are proud of this team. Good after-sales service is backed by the availability of spare parts. Our repeat business record shows we have good standing for after-sales service and upkeep of machines with available spare parts.” The company is looking forward to keep its growth momentum going in the future. Elaborating on the company’s plans for 2023 and beyond, Bakshi said: “Our vision for 2025 is to have perfect partner status with leading customers in the field of home textiles and rugs and carpets. We already have been rewarded with perfect partner status with some of the leading companies and we continue to excel in this direction. Our aim is to have customer’s delight, not just customer’s satisfaction.”
