Launched in June 2022, Oodaii is a premium home textile brand that draws strength from the rich legacy of Amaravathi Textiles, a Karur-based home textile manufacturer that has been serving the industry since 1970. Built on decades of textile expertise and manufacturing excellence, Oodaii aims to offer thoughtfully designed bath and bed linen products for the Indian market.

Vidhya Prem, Managing Director, Oodaii

“With Oodaii, the idea was to create a bath and bed linen brand for the Indian market, using the manufacturing experience and textile knowledge built over the years at Amaravathi. We wanted to bring together good quality, thoughtful design, and responsible ways of making into products that people use every day at home. The brand is headquartered in Karur, Tamil Nadu, and our collections are largely inspired by nature, moods, and colour,” says Vidhya Prem, Managing Director, Oodaii, in an exclusive interaction.

Navigating Industry Challenges

FY 2025-26 was a challenging year for the textile industry, with geopolitical uncertainties, fluctuating raw material costs and changing consumer demand patterns impacting businesses across the value chain. Despite these challenges, Oodaii remained resilient by leveraging its strong manufacturing foundation and sustainability-focused approach.

“Like the broader industry, we navigated challenges arising from geopolitical uncertainties, fluctuating input costs, and changing consumer demand patterns. However, our vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities, strong export legacy, and focus on sustainable products enabled us to remain resilient. We also noticed that customers are looking more closely at quality, design, and how products are made. That gives us confidence in the direction we have chosen for Oodaii, where the focus is on well-made bath and bed linen that fits everyday homes,” explains Vidhya.

Oodaii offers a carefully curated range of premium home textile products designed to enhance everyday living.

Its product portfolio includes:

Investing in Modernization and Sustainability

A key pillar of Oodaii’s growth strategy is continuous investment in modern manufacturing technologies that support both operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and operational excellence, we have continuously invested in upgrading our manufacturing processes and capabilities,” says Vidhya.

“A key area of investment has been our advanced dyeing infrastructure, which incorporates reverse osmosis and multi-effect evaporator technology. This enables our dyeing facility to operate as a zero-liquid-discharge unit, recycling approximately 96 per cent of treated effluent. We remain focused on enhancing efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and adopting technologies that support responsible manufacturing.”

Showcasing Innovation at HGH India 2026

Oodaii is gearing up for HGH India 2026 with the launch of its highly anticipated Vintage Collection, which will serve as the centerpiece of its participation at the exhibition.

“We are introducing our new Vintage Collection at HGH India 2026. The Vintage Collection began with colour, drawing from aged mosaic floors, weathered walls, textiles, and architectural details from the 14th to 16th centuries. These softer, warmer, and more nuanced shades became the starting point for the collection,” says Vidhya.

The Vintage Collection showcases several innovative bed and bath constructions, including:

Front Gauze Stripe Back Gauze Chambray: A four-layer gauze construction featuring a subtle white warp, coloured stripe patterns on the front, and a chambray back for greater visual depth and softness.

Space-Dyed Waffle: A unique waffle weave created using staggered dyeing techniques to achieve nuanced tonal variations and shaded colour effects.

Slub Basket Weave: Crafted using slub cotton yarns woven in a basket weave construction, creating a distinctive texture through the interplay of coloured and white yarns.

Waffle Terry: An innovative dual-surface weave featuring a waffle texture on one side and terry weave on the reverse, offering a balance of style and functionality.

Yarn-dyed Bedding with Dual Tone Effect: The warp is khaki, and the colours run through the weft in every piece. As a result, the product reflects light differently from each angle.

Jacquard, Gauze Weaves and Slub Textured Yarns in Bedding: Introducing comforters in gauze and jacquard weaves, along with slub textured yarns.

“The central theme of our participation at HGH India 2026 is our new Vintage Collection. We aim to demonstrate how heritage-inspired aesthetics, innovative weaving techniques, and sustainable manufacturing can come together to create premium home textiles for the modern consumer,” she explains.

What Sets Oodaii Apart?

The home textile market is highly competitive, especially at trade fairs where numerous brands compete for buyer attention. According to Vidhya, Oodaii’s strength lies in its complete control over the manufacturing process and its deep roots in Indian textile manufacturing.

“Our biggest differentiator lies in being a proudly homegrown brand. We source our yarn locally and manufacture all our products at our facility in Karur, India, ensuring complete control over quality, consistency, and craftsmanship. Combined with our focus on thoughtful design, innovation, and sustainability, this vertically integrated approach enables us to create products that are both authentic and relevant to the Indian market.”

The company differentiates itself through its strong manufacturing heritage, quality assurance systems, design-led collections inspired by nature and lifestyle trends, ethical production practices, and continuous product innovation.

“For buyers, this means they get products that are made in India, thoughtfully designed, and supported by responsible production practices. We can also respond to changing market needs because we understand both the manufacturing and consumer-facing sides of home textiles,” she adds.

Sustainability at the Core

Sustainability remains a central focus across every stage of Oodaii’s operations, from sourcing and manufacturing to packaging and distribution.

“Sustainability is embedded across our value chain, from sourcing and manufacturing to packaging and distribution,” says Vidhya.

The company focuses on environmentally responsible manufacturing processes, water recycling through its zero-liquid-discharge dyeing facility, skin-friendly and hypoallergenic dyes, efficient resource utilization, reduced waste generation, and recycled packaging solutions.

“We continue to explore innovative fibres and recycled raw materials that align with our performance and quality standards. Our approach is to adopt materials and processes that deliver meaningful environmental benefits without compromising on comfort, durability, or design.”

The company also places significant emphasis on consumer wellness.

“Consumer well-being is central to our product development philosophy. We prioritize hypoallergenic, skin-friendly dyes and finishes that minimize irritation while ensuring long-lasting performance.”

Its products are designed to deliver superior softness, comfort, absorbency and breathability while maintaining durability and minimizing environmental impact.

Positive Outlook for the Future

Looking ahead, Oodaii sees significant opportunities in the Indian home textiles market, driven by changing consumer preferences and increasing awareness about sustainability and wellness.

“We are highly optimistic about the future of the Indian home textiles market. Increasing consumer awareness around sustainability, wellness, quality, and design is creating strong demand for premium, responsibly manufactured products.”

According to Vidhya, the market is expected to witness greater adoption of sustainable materials and processes, increasing preference for natural fibres, and growing interest in personalized and design-led collections.

“India’s strong manufacturing ecosystem, combined with evolving consumer preferences, positions the country for significant growth in the home textiles sector. Brands that can successfully balance aesthetics, quality, innovation, and sustainability will be best placed to succeed in the years ahead,” she concludes.
