One of the highlights for the company in recent times has been the launch of an automatic piecing robot for spinning machinery

The Pinter Group has carved a niche for itself with its spindle monitoring systems and roving stock. Pinter FA.NI Asia Private Limited, the group’s Indian subsidiary, is all set to showcase its technological expertise in the forthcoming Texfair 2022 trade fair to be held from June 24-27, 2022 at Coimbatore. FY 2021-22 has been a good one for the company. Pleased with the performance, R Soundararajan, Managing Director, Pinter FA.NI Asia Private Limited, said: “It has been one of the best years since we started operations in India. We have consolidated our presence in the market. Our sales turnover has increased.”

“The same trend is continuing in the current financial year too. Right now the only challenge that we are facing is the shortage of raw material which almost all the textile manufacturers are going through,” he added. “Thanks to our group’s foresight and wide vision, we have been able to manage the situation very well. We have factories in Italy, Spain, India and China. We can always share the components. Wherever there is a shortage, we shift the components. It is one advantage that we have got,” he further said.

According to Soundararajan, apart from India, FY 2021-22 has also been one of the best years for the company globally too. “In fact, we are expanding our facilities in Coimbatore. We are adding one more unit, two km from our present unit. Most probably from September onwards we will be operating from both the premises,” he informed. One of the highlights for Pinter Group in recent times has been the launch of an automatic piecing robot for spinning machinery. Going into details regarding the same, Soundararajan stated: “This can be retrofitted. We launched the product at ITMA Shanghai 2021. Most probably we will be launching the same in India during ITME 2022.”

Adding further, he said: “As you know we have also been manufacturing core spun yarn attachments. We are also planning, perhaps after 2022, to manufacturing them in India.” Soundararajan also felt that policy initiatives such as the PLI and mega textile park schemes have come as a shot in the arm for the textile industry especially for mills looking for forward integration. “While the PLI scheme may mostly be for manmade fibre, our system with spindle monitoring and roving stock has become a necessity for spinning yarn, because without it you will face problems like lapping and more wastage. Now more customers who are processing synthetics are buying our systems. In fact, in FY 2021-22, out of our total turnover, more than 30% has been from synthetic processing customers,” he pointed out.

Optimistic Outlook

Listing down the strengths of the company, Soundararajan pointed out that the company’s technology, especially in electronics, is proven. “The electronics that we use in our systems is military grade and we never compromise on quality. That is the reason we have stationed a European here in our Coimbatore factory for the past seven odd years to take care of the quality. The other reason for our continued success is the fact that the design of our systems is simple, and they are easy to maintain apart from being user-friendly,” he added. Soundararajan is optimistic of the Indian textile industry’s future.

Speaking on the topic he said: “Textiles as we all know is the second-largest employer in our country. The government is also coming out with policies that are encouraging for the textile industry. I see tremendous scope for the growth of the industry. As mentioned before, this is the reason why we are expanding our facilities in India i.e. to focus more on this growing market as well as cater to the world market from here.” According to him, the company’s vision is to do a minimum of five times the present turnover by 2025. Inviting visitors to Texfair 2022 and meet the team at their stall, he said, “We are at Stall No. A21. We will have detailed product catalogues and video presentations. We would like to show that we are world-class in providing technological solutions.”
