Polteks is one of the leading manufacturers of textile finishing machinery. The Turkey-based company’s product range includes calender machines for all applications like Woven, Knits, Non Woven and Coated and Cold Pad Batch Dyeing Machines. The company is represented by The Gaurs in the Indian, Bangladesh and Sri Lankan markets. Sharing details about the history of Polteks, Managing Director Ali Karen says, “Polteks started its production in 1994. Initially, Polteks produced polyurethane and rubber parts. With the knowledge of chemistry, we started producing rollers and backed by strong engineering experience, Polteks started producing roller-based textile finishing machinery.”
Products and Presence
Listing the products offered by the company, Berk Karen, Director, Polteks, says: “We manufacture a wide variety of machines such as Classic OR commonly known as Traditional Calender Machines, Swimming Roll Calender Machines, Nippol-I Calender Machines, Calender Machines with Rubber Blanket for Knit Fabrics, Coating Line Calenders, Crushing Calenders, Laboratory Calenders etc etc , Cold Pad Batch Dyeing Padders, S-Rolls, along with Nippol-i, Nippol-ii, Expander Rolls and Chrome Metal Rollers.” As regards the key markets, Karen states” “Woven, Nonwoven, Technical Textile, Home Textile, Shirting Fabric, Knitted Fabric and Coated Fabric manufacturers are our key customers.”
“In terms of Worldwide markets, Polteks has customers in France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, South American countries and Africa. We have some machines running in India as well,” he adds. Adding, he says, “Normally customers use Calender Machines with traditional calender roll design that can run only at pre set particular pressure but we manufacture Calender Machines in the traditional design and also offer a Calender Machine which can give perfect calendering effect at varying Pressures from 75 – 350 kg per cm pressures.” So, for those customers who want different calendering effects from one single machine, Polteks has a solution. “In the last few years, our investments in research and development to upgrade our technology have resulted in Polteks becoming a global name in high-performance calender Machine manufacturing,” Karen points out.

Providing further details regarding the company’s association with The Gaurs, Karen states: “The Gaurs are known to Polteks for more than 15 years. Polteks worked with some other agents in the past in India but we have entered into a formal agreement with The Gaurs recently. Besides India, The Gaurs are associated with us for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.”
Highlighting the factors that would drive demand for Polteks’ machines in the Indian and other key global markets in the future, he says, “Since the beginning of this century Turkish machinery has constantly proved itself to the global market, driven by top engineering, high-quality production and the ability to compete internationally as well as in the domestic market. Polteks is a top calender producer of Turkey which has its own designing team. We design and manufacture custom-made machines and our commitment to satisfy the customer with the performance of our machines and after-sales service will further drive the demand for Polteks’ machines.” How does Polteks take care of the after-sales, service and spares for customers in India? Does it also offer remote diagnostic services?
Replying to this question, Karen remarks: “Yes, Polteks provides remote diagnostic assistance. Besides, we all know that The Gaurs’ operating strengths are their technical team and commitment to serve the customers. With these two factors we are sure the customer has no reason to worry about.” Speaking about the company’s future plans, Karen says: “We have been working on knitted fabric calendering and finishing solutions for a while. Also, calender machines with rubber blanket has a unique touch to the hand which we believe will be cutting-edge technology for the market. Our Cold Pad Batch Dyeing Machine is now available for Knit Fabric Dyeing as well.”
