Polytex Chemical Engineering Ltd, provides complete plant solutions for chemical polymer fiber equipment, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyamide 6 (PA 6), PA 66, PLA and PBS lines, solid state poly condensation line, spinning and PSF production line, dye chemical devices, etc. The Chinese company was established in 2002. ACME, another one of the Polytex group’s companies was established in Yizheng Jiangsu province in 2012. Spread across 70,000 square meters, the ACME has its exclusive R&D and machining centers. In fact, the headquarters of the Polytex group is scheduled to be moved to this site by the end of this year. Chindustry Shanghai, also part of the group, was established in the year 2014.
Speaking exclusively to The Textile Magazine, Mr. Xukun Lu, Chairman of the company mentioned:” Over the years Polytex has helped set up nearly 300 projects, many of which have broken through foreign technical barriers and achieved many firsts in the industry, some of which include:
* 400 TPD PBT plant in Henan Kaixiang, which boasts of the largest production capacity in the world up to now and which won the first prize of Henan Science & Technology and the first prize of Chinese Coal Industry. The second plant is being built in Ningbo. This capacity has not been surpassed in the industry at present.
* 240 TPD PC plant in Jiangxi is being delivered, which is China’s first domestically produced PC plant.
* China’s first PLA plant is getting commissioned.
* Operations commenced successfully China’s first PET melt direct nonwovens recently.
* The largest low melt point PET direct spinning in China has been commissioned and operated with capacity 750 TPD in October 2018.
* China’s first full chemical PET recycling plant has been built by Polytex, which demonstrates the integrity of this technology.
* The first large-scale integrated petrochemical technological transformation project based on energy management mode in China has been operating successfully in Xinjiang Guanghua for three years now and has achieved expected benefits.

The products and technologies offered by Polytex for the textile segment include PET, PBT, PBS, PTT, PLA, PA6 and PA66.
Speaking about the performance of the company in 2018, Mr. Xukun Lu said that the company got contract for five CP-Pet plants this year. He also added that this year a large number of automation equipment has been added for machining and manufacturing purposes in the company’s factory. Work in a modern heavy workshop is also fast nearing completion.
For Polytex, while China is the major market, India is the second largest market and the Middle East is a developing market.
Highlighting the importance of the Indian market for the group, Mr. Xukun Lu pointed out:” India is a very important market for Polytex, constituting about 30% of our total sales”.

Elaborating on some of the key factors that give Polytex its competitive edge, Mr. Xukun Lu said:” There are four main factors most customers will consider for supplier selection. These include: –
1) Whether their technology is proven and reliable.
2) Whether the supplier has the ability to establish the whole project. After all, a polymerization plant is large amount investment for customers, so the capability of suppliers is an important factor.
3) Does the supplier guarantee the quality? This is only possible if the supplier can provide perfect technical design, excellent manufacturing, and reliable process control.
4) For the Indian market, price is also an important factor that needs to be considered.”
