With a chemical portfolio spanning fibres, yarns, fabrics and garments, Resil Chemicals is strengthening its position as an innovation-led textile technology company. At India ITME, the company will showcase advanced solutions in textile finishing, technical textiles and sustainable processing, while highlighting the evolving convergence of chemistry, machinery and digitalisation.

For Resil Chemicals, the future of textile chemistry lies increasingly in customization, technology and sustainability. As competition intensifies in conventional textile chemicals, the Bengaluru-based company is focusing on differentiated products, intellectual property, certified solutions and closer partnerships with brands and manufacturers.
The strategy is already reflected in its portfolio. Resil is a major Indian manufacturer of silicone-based textile chemicals and resins, while its solutions extend across fibres, yarns, sewing threads, woven and knitted fabrics, garments and technical textiles. The company has also expanded into polyurethane chemistry, opening new opportunities in technical textiles and sustainable finishing.
Speaking about the company’s innovation-led approach, Ganesh Srinivasan, CEO, Resil Chemicals, says “Competing solely on commodity chemicals and conventional technologies will not deliver sustainable, long-term growth.” he notes, highlighting the company’s focus on creating customized and “blue ocean” opportunities.
Innovation at the Core
Resil’s technology strategy is built around four pillars: product innovation, service excellence, sustainability, and trusted brand value.

Innovation is backed by significant intellectual-property development. The company currently has around 24 patents, with additional patents being filed, making R&D a central component of its growth strategy.
One of its major recent developments is its entry into water based polyurethane (WPU) chemistry. Resil says it is the first Indian company to manufacture polyurethane products domestically, an area traditionally supplied by companies from Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
The technology has particular relevance for technical textiles, where PU is used extensively in coatings, water-repellent applications, bonding and other specialised finishes.
Resil has also developed patented water-based polyurethane technology, offering a more sustainable alternative to conventional solvent-based systems. The company sees this as a significant opportunity to build an Indian technology platform capable of competing with imported products.
A Complete Textile Finishing Portfolio
While finishing remains Resil’s core strength, the company’s solutions cover a broad section of the textile value chain.

Its portfolio includes spin finishes for fibres, yarn lubricants and antistatic finishes, sewing-thread solutions, silicones, resins, polyurethane and specialised finishing chemicals.
The company is also a significant Indian manufacturer of resins, with capacity of approximately 400 tonnes, supplying major textile companies.
In garments, Resil has built a particularly strong position. Its chemicals are used by leading brands, with its N9 brand being promoted directly to consumers through garment labels. The company works with around 250 brands in India, including major apparel brands and online businesses.
Its technology partnerships with brands have also extended internationally. Resil’s N9 solutions have been used by global brands, while the company currently supplies specialty products to around 100 Chinese mills.
This combination of chemistry, branding and application expertise gives Resil a differentiated position in a market where consistency, traceability and compliance are becoming increasingly important.
Sustainability and Compliance
Sustainability is becoming a major differentiator for textile chemical suppliers, particularly as Indian manufacturers increasingly target export markets.
Resil is currently the only Indian company with bluesign certification, according to Srinivasan, and has approximately 500 products listed under OEKO-TEX.
These certifications are increasingly valuable as brands and international markets demand greater transparency around chemical inputs, traceability and environmental performance.
India’s expanding free-trade agreements with developed markets could accelerate this trend. Srinivasan believes requirements around product passports, carbon-footprint assessment, traceability and compliance will increasingly influence supplier selection.
Resil has already completed carbon-footprint studies for select products and believes certified, organised suppliers will be better positioned as these requirements become more stringent.
Creating Localised Global Capabilities
Resil is also developing a strategy of “satellite manufacturing” to support both Indian and international customers.
The objective is to establish local manufacturing, application support and testing capabilities closer to major textile clusters such as Tirupur, enabling faster development and customised solutions.
The company is simultaneously building partnerships with international companies that can take Resil technologies into markets such as Europe, the US and other regions.
The model could allow Resil to act as a manufacturing and technology partner for global companies while leveraging India’s strong textile-processing ecosystem.
INDIA ITME: Showcasing the Next Technology Frontier
Against this backdrop, INDIA ITME assumes particular importance for Resil.
Srinivasan expects strong international interest in the exhibition, particularly as global textile companies look to India for manufacturing, technology and supply-chain opportunities.
Resil’s participation will focus on specialty chemicals, sustainable processing and technical textile applications. Its new water based polyurethane technologies are expected to be among the areas of interest, alongside solutions for coating and technical textiles.
Leveraging its expertise in silicone science, Resil will develop and launch advanced silicone coatings and technologies for technical textile applications.
However, the company’s INDIA ITME strategy goes beyond showcasing chemicals.
Resil is exploring the interface between textile machinery and chemical technology—an emerging area where machinery design and chemistry can work together to improve processing efficiency and sustainability.
The company has strengthened its leadership team with expertise from the machinery industry and is investigating technologies where sustainable chemicals can add value to machinery, as well as machinery that can accommodate newer chemical systems.
“This is the niche area we want to enter,” says Srinivasan.
The company is also evaluating sustainable machinery technologies developed by research institutions that have yet to be commercialised, creating potential opportunities to bring new technologies to the market.
For machinery manufacturers, this could eventually mean access to chemical solutions designed around specific equipment capabilities and processes.
Looking Beyond Conventional Textiles
Resil is also expanding its focus towards MMF and technical textiles.
While India’s textile industry remains heavily oriented towards cotton, Srinivasan believes polyester and other man-made fibres offer significant room for innovation. Resil is therefore developing new polyester-based chemistries designed specifically to improve compatibility and performance on polyester fabrics.
Technical textiles represent another strategic growth area, particularly through the company’s water-based PU technologies.
The objective is to build a portfolio that can compete with imported products while offering Indian manufacturers locally developed and sustainable alternatives.
A Technology-Led Growth Agenda
Resil has set an ambitious target of doubling its business over the next three years, supported by investment in R&D, localisation, new segments and international partnerships.
The company expects consolidation and stronger regulatory standards to benefit organised players with established technology, certification and quality systems.
For Resil, the opportunity lies in moving away from commodity competition and towards specialty chemistry, sustainability, intellectual property and application-led solutions.
INDIA ITME will provide an important platform to demonstrate this transition—to Indian textile manufacturers, international customers, brands and machinery companies.
As Srinivasan puts it, Resil’s next phase will focus on creating differentiated, difficult-to-replicate technologies and building partnerships that expand their global reach. From textile finishing to technical textiles, and from chemistry to the chemistry–machinery interface, Resil is positioning itself as an Indian technology company with ambitions extending well beyond the domestic market.
