“I am looking forward to the challenge of taking Chiorino to greater heights under my regime. We have a superb workforce and, with huge untapped potential for our belts in the Indian market, the future looks promising,” said Mr. Nambiar in an interaction with The Textile Magazine.

“We wish to treble our turnover in the next 5 years, and we would like to achieve this by providing the finest quality at the most competitive pricing and highest level of customer satisfaction,” he added.

Mr. Nambiar has more than a quarter of a century experience within the textile sector and was previously handling a large portfolio at Habasit. With him at the helm of affairs, Chiorino India is sure to boost its performance in the textile vertical. Moving forward, the company has plans of having a few more fabrication units, mainly in the South and the West of the country.

Chiorino belts have been reaching Indian shores for many decades, but the decision to strengthen its presence in the sub-continent was taken in 2013. The following year, it set up a fabrication unit in Goa to meet the growing domestic demand.

Currently, Chiorino India is performing exceptionally well in sectors like food and pharma, paper, printing & packaging, etc. The company recently celebrated its successful completion of one year of business on the Indian soil by holding a big sales meet. Textiles contributed to 30 per cent of its total turnover of the company for FY2015. It is expected to perform better in the coming years.
