Sagar expands spinning and knitting capacity

Sagar Manufacturers, part of Sagar Group, has announced the commissioning of their 5th cotton yarn manufacturing unit. The new unit has the production capacity to manufacture 10,000 MT of yarn per annum with addition of 42,000 spindles. With the commissioning of this unit, the company’s total spinning capacity has touched 2,00,000 spindles and 40,150 MT of yarn per annum. The company has also installed 30 ultra-modern knitting machines in its knitting unit with a combination of rib and tubular having a capacity of 6,600 MT of fabric per annum.

Starting from a humble beginning by having a one room office, today Sagar Group is the fastest growing conglomerate in Madhya Pradesh. For more than 35 years Sagar Group has continued as a dynamic and vibrant entity. It started with its first real estate project in 1983. Later, in 2001, it ventured into the education field by setting up Sagar Public School. It now successfully operates three leading schools, three engineering institutes, one business school and one pharmacy institute. It also has a rice milling unit near Bhopal.

In 2012, Sagar Group ventured into the textile business by setting up a spinning mill, Sagar Manufacturers (P) Limited. For this project, Sudhir Agrawal, a visionary person, was ably assisted by his son, Siddharth Agrawal, a civil engineering graduate from (NIT) Bhopal. He now heads the company as its Managing Director. Sagar Manufacturer’s product range includes FLO-certified yarns, CUC-certified yarns, BCI yarns, lycra core spun yarns (compact and combed), ELLI twist combed compact yarns, slub yarns, combed and compact yarns for weaving and knitting, Rieter compact yarns, twist yarn, TFO yarns and FLOCERT Fair Trade-certified yarns.
