Savio’s Helios and MultiLink attract huge attention at ITMA

At ITMA 2019 Savio showcased its innovative range of products and high-end technological solutions: Helios, a new open-end rotor spinning machine and the MultiLink solution for automatic winding, which connects multiple ring spinning frames to one Savio winder, becoming a custom-made circuit.

These innovations are designed to give customers the maximum flexibility, to reduce energy and labor costs while also increasing productivity during production of the yarn.

The latest winding solution from Savio is the MultiLink that connects multiple ring spinning frames (RSF) to one Savio winder, becoming a tailor-made solution to link multiple RSFs to one winding machine. A special iPeg tray guarantees the circulation of RSF bobbing to and from the winder. This solution optimizes space, reduces energy consumption and production costs. This automatic bobbin transport shortens servicing paths for the operators and allows an ergonomic material flow.

The costs of production, space and energy are reduced while keeping the quality consistent even with long and multi-connected machines. This solution provides a wide flexibility making the winder able to process different yarn lots and counts on the same machine.

The other main innovation launched at ITMA is Helios, Savio’s new automatic open-end rotor spinning frame. It is called Helios, a hybrid being a truly fully automated machine which can be also operated manually in both doffing and piecing. Once a machine is restarted after electricity breakdowns, the operator can do piecing manually along with the automatic piecing done by the machine.

The hybrid technology thus means optimum efficiency, minimum “nonproductive” time to support high flexibility and much shorter payback on investment.

Savio is happy about the quality of visitors at ITMA. Several important textile groups visited the exhibition, especially decision makers like owners or very senior executives. The major visits have been from India, Turkey and Italy, together with many important delegations from Egypt, South America, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Russia.

Savio also awarded important customers in dedicated Golden Drum celebrations. At ITMA, the Golden Drum presentation ceremonies took place for important Turkish and Italian companies, SAVIO’s most loyal and successful partners, as a token of gratitude and long-lasting relationship: Kipas Group, Sanko, Calik Denim, Sirikcioðlu and Candiani Denim.

ITMA 2019 also provided the platform for the announcement of a comprehensive modernization program for Egypt’s textile industry. Savio signed the largest contract with the Egyptian Cotton and Textile Industries Holding Company (CTIHC) regaining the historical stature of the Egyptian industry. On June 24, Dr. Ahmed Moustafa, its Chairman, signed the contract at ITMA with Mr. Massimo Giussani, Savio CEO. Contracts were awarded for the first phase of the modernization program to seven textile machinery suppliers: Savio, Rieter, Marzoli, Benninger (including Thies and Brückner), EFI Reggiani, Itema and Karl Mayer.

These seven projects were worth approximately 1 billion €. This order is part of a comprehensive modernization program of the Egyptian textile industry. The order intakes are anticipated to be realized this year itself with sales posted in 2020-2021.
