Welspun’s differentiated product offerings are based on its deep consumer understanding through market research. Welspun’s innovation DNA is also integral to its processes through which it provides value-added services to the customers. From market insights, design, product development, integrated manufacturing, global distribution, to Omni-channel support & SCM analytics, the company provides all-round expert service. Its experience of more than three decades in the textile industry and strong customer focus comes out in the new range of products showcased in Heimtextil 2020.

Welspun has been recently featured amongst top 100 companies in India for Sustainability and CSR by ET-Futurescape. Through this year’s event, Welspun also presented a unique illustration of sustainability integrated across the value chain, through its new collection.

Welspun is taking efforts to make its textile value chain more sustainable, starting right from the farms. It engages resources in training the farmers to grow more sustainable cotton: BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) and Organic Cotton (Non-GMO). This project is spread over 350 villages and impacts 60,000 farm workers. Welspun has invested in 30 million litres capacity sewage treatment plant which treats sewage water from nearby villages and makes it available for manufacturing. Welspun thereby uses zero fresh water for manufacturing, which remains fully available to local communities.

Their most spotlighted products were the Hygrocotton Towels & Sheets which are made from proprietary spinning technology, a groundbreaking innovation in comfort from Welspun, included in the 31 active patents that the company holds. This makes the final product ultra-soft, ultra-absorbent and has a most distinguished feature, it becomes fluffier after every wash. These towels being high on functionality are able to dry the user quicker than regular towels and also does not retain moisture for long so the towel itself dries off significantly faster.

Hygrocotton has completed 15 amazing years & over $1 billion in fob sales globally, a testimony of its great popularity amongst customers all over the world.

Next in line are the company’s Wellness range of home textiles. The products in this collection have lifelong anti-microbial properties and odour prevention benefits that keep the linens fresh for a longer time. This means that the products will keep looking and smelling like when newly unwrapped. The company also presented a reinvented range of the classic Egyptian cotton, renowned for its luxurious feel. Products in this range are marked by their long-staple fibres that have superior absorbency, unparalleled softness and remarkable durability.

Welspun has developed Wel-Trak™, a patented, industry-defining, tech-enabled solution that delivers end-to-end product traceability, ensuring that customers and consumers can trace the provenance of the raw cotton material throughout the supply chain from farm to the retail shelf.  In addition, Welspun receives 3rd party assurance, from Oritain, a New Zealand based company, which uses a patented chemical verification process to analyze cotton content and match it to the tract of land where the cotton was grown. Wel-Trak™ is gaining strong acceptance with global retailers to provide assurance to end-use consumers, who have started incorporating Wel-Trak™ logo on their product packaging as a trusted seal of traceability.

Welspun, which recently commissioned its flooring plant with promises to disrupt the industry, also showcased its range of flooring solutions ranging from Carpet Tiles, Greens (artificial grass), Broadloom Carpets (wall to wall carpet) to the most innovative, patented and technologically advanced product – the Click-N-Lock tiles.

Welspun’s aim to keep breaking its own benchmarks came out flawlessly through its Heimtextil exhibition. Overall, the company succeeded in presenting its leadership to the potential clients and competitiveness to the fellow players in the industry. The company is looking forward to the event’s next edition where it aims to come back even stronger.
