Talking about the company’s business in 2017, Mr. Gottfried Abrell, CEO, Luwa Air Engineering AG, says: “The year was quite good for Luwa. In many countries around the globe we could conclude orders not only with large customers but also with many small players. We expect business to be the same as in 2018. We have an excellent order backlog and are having many projects under discussion. In general, we are seeing 2018 to be another good year for the textile industry. For India, with GST worries getting sorted, we expect improvement in the flow of new investments with additional capacities in the weaving and knitting segment”.

Luwa has seen increased business in Bangladesh, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and the US, while sales in Turkey have just recovered. “We see more and more customers investing in other countries than their home base. We call this type of business internally as ‘cross-border business’. We at Luwa are serving our customers at their home base as well as in their new enterprise whether it is in Africa or the US, with our worldwide sales and service network”, adds Mr. Abrell.

Industry 4.0 being the buzz word in industry circles, Luwa utilizes all available data and links it with the participants of the value chain. The humidification and filter plants are often seen as utilities and do not get complete focus. In many installations there is room for better performance and lower power consumption if full attention is given and if intelligent systems are supporting this. Luwa is developing an add-on to its DigiControl system to manage performance of the humidification and filtration plants. It will be available for customers in India this year, he confirms.

In India, Luwa has maintained its market leadership in textile humidification and filtration plants and increased its business by being a preferred supplier to corporate groups. Besides, it penetrated into small and micro sector business too and has provided energy-efficient solutions to its various customers in and around Bhiwandi, Bhilwara, Ichalkaranji and Ahmedabad markets.

The company has also executed major projects for Sintex,  Himatsingka, Vardhman, Welspun, Shahi Exports, Chiripal Group, Jindal Worldwide, Sudiva, RSWM, Pallava Group and  Kallam Spinners.
