The Coimbatore-based SIMTA Group is known for its quality range of products for the textile industry. The company is all set for yet another successful presentation at ITMA.

Mr. Senthil Kumar, Managing Director, SIMTA Group

Speaking exclusively to The Textile Magazine, Mr. Senthil Kumar, the group Managing Director, disclosed that the company has been participating in ITMA since the 1999 edition. “So, we have over 20 years of experience of participating in the event. In fact, we have an exclusive team that takes care of our participation in various exhibitions. This time too it is no different. We are all set and ready for the event”.

Going into details about the key takeaways from ITMA, Mr. Senthil Kumar said: “It is actually a difficult to pinpoint one reason. For me though personally one of the main takeaways from ITMA is the networking opportunity it provides. You can network with a whole host of people, for example, customers, agents, suppliers, OEMS, etc., all under a single roof. There is no doubt that the exhibition would be beneficial to any textile company. In many instances, the benefit may not be immediate, but there will be definitely long-term benefits by joining the event.”

He added: “We are showcasing our entire range of products at the event this time around. Visitors can take a look at our spindle tapes, clearer rollers, OHTCs, bobbin transport system, cop sorters, roving end opener, stripping machines and bobbin exchangers.”

Asked about his expectations from the event, he replied: “We are not going with any set of expectations, for example, to do a particular volume of business. Our expectation is that the event will help further enhance our brand image. It is actually quite simple, and every time our expectation has been fulfilled.”

Mr. Senthil Kumar looked forward to interacting with visitors from around the world at the event. “Our products have global presence. In Asia we have presence in countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, etc. Similarly, we are there in Egypt and South Africa. In Europe we are in Italy and France. In Latin America we have our presence in Brazil and Argentina. So, we would definitely like to speak to potential customers from all these countries and also from places where we don’t have our presence at present,” he added.

Mr. Senthil Kumar sounded happy about the company’s recent export performance. “Our exports have been growing steadily. This year the share of our exports in our textile division is about 60% of the total sales,” he pointed out.

Replying to a query as to which are the places which he felt are promising markets, Mr. Senthil stated that as the market evolves, the list keeps changing from time to time and that Asian countries, with their huge spindle capacity, would remain the key markets going forward.

He further stated that the company registered good growth in 2018-19. “Our growth rate has been around 30%. Bobbin transport system is the key product behind our growth. Mills in India are facing shortage of labor. They are therefore trying for various kinds of automation. The bobbin transport system helps solve this issue in sections such as simplex and ringframe. Moreover, it makes the work environment a lot easier for the operators. It eliminates a lot of hard work,” he explained.

Highlighting the key reasons why the company has been able to stay ahead of competition, Mr. Senthil Kumar observed: “We have been in the market for the last about 30 years. All these years our focus has been on providing good service to the customers. We offer them true value for their money. Needless to say, they are very happy and are recommending our products.”

The company has a team of 35 service engineers spread all over India. It also has its own engineers located in places like Vietnam and Indonesia. “For the rest of the key global markets service is taken care off by our agents,” he added.

“We are in Hall-7, Booth D-136, 137, 138, 140 and 141, spread across around 100 square meters. We invite visitors from around the world to visit our stall,” Mr. Senthil Kumar said, signing off.
