By Prabhakar & Mohan Raj

Vandewiele–Savio reaffirmed its reputation as a global leader in textile machinery at Texfair 2026, where its booth became a focal point for innovation and industry dialogue. Visitors were drawn to the company’s latest range of machines designed to boost productivity, cut energy consumption, and elevate yarn quality.

In an exclusive conversation, Shrikant Gajabi, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, shared insights into Vandewiele–Savio’s strong performance, breakthrough technologies, and vision for the future.

Strong Momentum in FY 2025–26

The company reported an encouraging year, particularly in the Two-For-One (TFO) twisting segment, with robust order bookings across domestic and international markets.

“In terms of TFO, it has been a great year for us,” said Shrikant. “We had strong order booking and supply, not only in the domestic market but also from exports. We have also launched an assembly winder, which we are now exporting successfully.”

Among the highlights was the unveiling of a new energy-saving spindle, engineered to deliver higher speeds, improved productivity, and significant energy savings.

Cosmos’ TFO: Market Acceptance with Modern Drive Technology

The recently introduced ‘Cosmos’ TFO machine with Electronic Drive System (EDS) has quickly become one of India’s best-selling models.

“With the EDS feature, the machine is completely gearless, which enhances efficiency and reduces maintenance,” Shrikant explained.

This innovation underscores Vandewiele–Savio’s commitment to integrating automation and advanced drive technology for greater reliability and performance.

Key Highlights at Texfair 2026

The company showcased several cutting-edge solutions, including the Proxima Winder, equipped with AI-driven features and enhanced connectivity.

“The Proxima Winder delivers about 10% higher productivity while consuming nearly 10% less power compared to competing machines,” Shrikant noted.

Installed at mills across India, the machine has already earned praise from quality-conscious customers, with some reporting a ₹10–₹15 premium per kilogram of yarn thanks to its superior output.

Expanding Horizons: Jacquard and Carpet Technologies

Beyond spinning and winding, Vandewiele–Savio highlighted its BONAS Jacquard machine, ideal for intricate saree and towel weaving.

“We recently installed Jacquard machines at RAMRAJ for veshti/dhoti production, and we’ve built a strong presence in northern markets like Surat,” Shrikant shared.

The company is also making strides in carpet machinery, offering both woven and tufted technologies, with successful installations in hubs such as Panipat, Bhadoi, and Silvassa.

Strengthening Manufacturing in Coimbatore

To meet rising demand, Vandewiele–Savio has expanded its Coimbatore facility with new warehouse, machining, sheet metal, and powder-coating units.

“By strengthening our internal capabilities, we can reduce costs while ensuring consistent quality,” Shrikant emphasized.

Customer-Centric Service Network

With 52 engineers stationed across India’s textile hubs, Vandewiele–Savio boasts one of the largest service teams for winding and TFO machines. Its spare parts and repair centre in Coimbatore further ensure quick response times and reliable support.

Positive Response and Industry Outlook

Texfair 2026 proved highly successful, with strong interest across product lines, particularly in Jacquard solutions. Shrikant observed that the decline in skilled artisans is accelerating the adoption of electronic weaving technologies, a trend he believes will define the future.

Looking ahead, Vandewiele–Savio plans to localize more machinery for India while leveraging the Vandewiele Group’s global expertise.

“With Free Trade Agreements coming into effect, the garmenting sector will receive a significant boost. This will lead to increased yarn sourcing from India. If global conditions stabilize, we foresee a strong period of sustained growth,” Shrikant concluded.
