In an exclusive chat at the company’s stall, Mr. Pranesh Karthic Padmanabhan, Managing Director of Sujini Machines, said: “We have been manufacturing automatic rotary bale plucking machines for the past 8 years. Of course, we have been in the textile machinery field since 1985 when my father Mr. D. Padmanabhan started the company under a different name – The Perfect Equipment Company. It was around 2007 when we rebranded to Sujini Machines and launched 2 models of bale pluckers initially, i.e., RBO 23 and RBO 35. Our products have been well received, early on in South India and now throughout the country. Based on the feedback that we got during that time that many mills were moving towards polyester, viscose and other mélanges, we developed another automatic bale plucker model – the VC 40. This year we have launched the VC 10 and VC 50 models which we are showcasing at India ITME 2016.”

Going into what makes the company products stand out from the rest, Mr. Pranesh pointed out that its major competitors in the rotary bale pluckers market segment were either Chinese manufacturers or a handful of very small players from Coimbatore. “Quality has always been our strong point. The small micro level players can never match our quality. We are an ISO 9001:2015 certified company. We have stringent standards in place. In fact, our machines are over-engineered and the life of our machines is more than what is required, i.e., beyond 10 years. We also offer excellent aftersales technical support services, something that gives us the edge over the Chinese makers here in India,” he said.

According to Mr. Pranesh an exclusive Technical Advisor is sent by the company who helps out clients, staying with them for a couple of days after installation and makes sure that the required quality is achieved by the machine.

The company which has over 250 successful installations to its credit is happy with the response received at the textile machinery trade fair. “The show has been good for us. Apart from the Indian visitors, we have also received enquiries from countries such as Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran and even Belgium. Although right now we are not exporting, we are always open to exploring the options,” Mr. Pranesh disclosed.

The company is also planning to expand its product offerings in the near future. “Our R&D team is working on a few products which are in the conceptual stage. We will make a formal announcement once they are ready for launch,” he added.
