Trident Limited has approved a ₹4,650-crore expansion and modernisation programme across its yarn, sheeting, paper and renewable energy businesses. Cleared by the board on November 2, 2026, the projects are scheduled for completion in stages between December 2027 and September 2029, with funding through internal accruals and debt.

The largest investment, ₹1,660 crore, will go towards a new yarn manufacturing facility at Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, with a capacity of 1,99,680 spindles. Trident has already acquired 179.2 acres of leasehold land for the project at an approximate cost of ₹106.09 crore. The facility is expected to be completed by September 30, 2029.
At its existing yarn facility in Budhni, Madhya Pradesh, the company will invest ₹1,022 crore in expansion and modernisation, targeted for completion by December 31, 2027. The programme includes the addition of 99,840 spindles, replacement of 48,000 older spindles with 70,176 new spindles for finer-count yarns, and replacement of 960 older rotors with 2,400 new rotors.

Trident’s existing yarn operations across Sanghera, Punjab, and Budhni have 7,46,064 spindles, 5,424 rotors and 320 air-jets. Capacity utilisation at Budhni stands at 94%. The sheeting business will receive ₹1,018 crore for the addition of 336 looms, taking its loom capacity from 504 to 840. Scheduled for completion by January 31, 2028, the expansion comes against reported capacity utilisation of 58%.
In paper, Trident plans to invest ₹296 crore to add 28 tonnes per day, increasing manufacturing capacity from 479 to 507 tonnes per day. The project is expected to be completed by March 31, 2028; existing paper capacity utilisation stands at 81%.
A further ₹654 crore has been earmarked for a hybrid renewable energy project comprising 60 MW of wind power and 20 MW of solar power on an AC basis, with completion targeted by October 31, 2028. The investment will support sustainable operations and improve energy efficiency, alongside the company’s existing 57.3 MW DC peak solar capacity.
Together, the projects will expand Trident’s manufacturing base while upgrading older spinning equipment and increasing access to renewable power. The company said the programme is intended to strengthen its operating capabilities and market position, supporting its presence in both domestic and international markets.
