The Truetzschler Indian subsidiary, formerly known as “Trumac”, was established in 1977 in Ahmedabad. In the initial years, from 1981 to 1992, the company activity was mainly concentrated on supplying blow room machines. In 1992 cards were added to the production program and in 2002 draw frames. It was in 2009 that a transition began with supply of the company series of machines to the Indian market under the brand name of “Truetzschler”. These cutting-edge machines ensured that products and services were of the global standard.

Truetzschler India’s plant in Ahmedabad is one of the most sophisticated manufacturing units in India equipped wih the latest machines and systems for producing world-class blowroom lines with the foreign particle separator, TC 10 card, TD drawframe and TCO comber and the complete card clothing range.

Commenting on the company’s global performance in 2017, Dr. Burger says: “For the Truetzschler Group, 2017 was one of the most successful years across the globe. In the spinning sector major markets like India and China invested in spinning whereas new investments also came to Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Our Non-woven business also expanded in China and Europe. Spinning and Card Clothing had witnessed significant growth whereas the Non-Wovens and Man-Made division was steady”. China continues to be the most dominant market across all business units for Truetzschler worldwide.

Speaking about the Indian market, he observes: “2017 was the most successful year, and we delivered the highest number of blow room cards and draw frames to the Indian customers.” In 2016, Truetzschler India delivered the 10,000th card manufactured at its Ahmedabad facility for the Indian market. In the same year the company also had the successful launch of combing machines and tuft blending installation for value addition in the blended yarn segment. Currently Truetzschler commands a market share of over 50% in India for blowroom machines and cards.

A few years back Toyota and Truetzschler jointly developed and manufacturer combers. The combers were planned to be manufactured in the Indian market. Subsquently in November 2017,  Truetzschler took over the complete responsibility from Toyota for the comber business, from engineering up to sales, service and spareparts. This also includes HARA service and spareparts business which will be handled by Truetzschler exclusively, starting February 1, 2018.

After about five years of successful co-operation, both Toyota and Truetzschler have now come to this new arrangement in order to strengthen their complementary partnership by focussing on their individual efforts for further innovations and services to the markets. “We produced and supplied more than 400 combers and most of them are exported to various countries”, adds Dr. Burger.
