Truetzschler’s 40 glorious years of blowroom line installation

Even after almost four decades, the blowroom line at Sree Katteri Textile is working in perfect condition – a testimonial to the expertise and perfection of Truetzschler’s products

Truetzschler’s expertise in the spinning arena needs no introduction. Hundreds of its machines running across spinning mills globally will vouch for the high standards set by the company’s machines. The blowroom line that the company installed in Sree Katteri Textiles (P) Ltd., Coimbatore, is perhaps the best testimonial for its technical prowess. Considered the company’s first blowroom line installation in entire South India, the remarkable thing about the machine is its flawless performance even after almost 40 years of operation.

Sree Katteri Textiles, whose product range in cotton yarn ranges from 60’s C to 92’s C, was established in 1978 and has a current splindage of 11,432. According to M Chandran, Chairman, Sree Katteri Textiles, it was the extraordinary foresight of the group’s founder-chairman, K N Mathalli, that triggered the reason for choosing the blowroom line. “He was impressed about the features of the machine. It was his sheer confidence in the company,” he recollects. “He signed the order for Truetzschler’s blowroom line in 1980. The machine was subsequently installed in 1981,” he adds.

The machine’s installation generated a lot of interest among the textile fraternity in the region at that point of time. “Almost the entire lot of mills in the Coimbatore region made a beeline to visit our mill to take a closer look at the new machine,” Chandran mentions. “We are proud to say that we have had no regrets on our decision till date and we have succeeded in maintaining it to this day in top condition,” he adds. The top management of Sree Katteri Textiles is also very happy about the continued after-sales support provided by Truetzschler. “The company has given us no reason to regret and with their support and prompt service assistance we have had no issue till date,” Chandran states.

“Even in the 40th year of its operation, the blowroom line is working in perfect condition to our entire satisfaction,” he adds. The solid performance of the machine has been instrumental in the group going in for Truetzschler machines in its other four units too. Speaking about future plans, Chandran says, “We do not intend to change this blowroom line in the near future. We have even put off our idea of attaching a chute feed in this unit as the original scutcher is still working in excellent condition. We would prefer Truetzschler to any other make as far as blowroom lines are concerned.”
