InspirOn Engineering: Advancing Stenter Technology Through Efficiency, Automation and Reliability

By K. Gopalakrishnan

With nearly three decades of experience and over 300 machines supplied worldwide, InspirOn Engineering continues to develop its Motex stenter range around energy efficiency, process control, fabric versatility and dependable after-sales support. Executive Director Mrs. Radhika Bhagwati discusses the company’s technological strengths, evolving customer requirements and plans for INDIA ITME 2026.

InspirOn Engineering has steadily strengthened its position in textile finishing through its Motex range of stenter machines, combining engineering expertise with a focus on productivity, fabric quality and cost-effectiveness. The company’s journey in stenter manufacturing began in 1996 through a joint venture with A.Monforts, Germany. Since then, it has supplied more than 300 machines worldwide.

Mrs. Radhika Bhagwati, Executive Director

According to Mrs. Radhika Bhagwati, (ED), InspirOn Engineering, three priorities are increasingly shaping product development: sustainability, automation and flexibility. Textile processors require equipment that can handle diverse fabric types, deliver consistent quality and reduce energy consumption without compromising productivity.

“Customers expect machines that save energy, handle diverse fabrics and deliver consistent quality , and that’s where Motex has evolved,” she says.

Engineering for Productivity and Energy Efficiency

A key differentiator of the Motex range is its patented Uniflo Air Circulation system, which delivers up to 15% higher drying efficiency at the same power consumption, according to the company. The stenters also incorporate a chamber-design heating system intended to optimise utility consumption.

As energy expenditure and maintenance costs become increasingly important considerations for textile processors, InspirOn has focused on features that minimise thermal losses and improve operational reliability. Its latest machines incorporate IE3/IE4-class motors, PID-controlled motorised valves and specialised insulation materials to reduce energy consumption, heat loss and breakdowns.

The company also uses components from established suppliers, including Siemens, Lenze, Lapp, E+L, SMC, ABB and Yaskawa. The objective is to combine dependable component performance with lower lifecycle costs and consistent processing quality.

Another practical feature is the long-term lubrication system for the stenter chain. According to Bhagwati, regreasing is required only after approximately 6,000–8,000 working hours, eliminating the need for daily lubrication and reducing routine maintenance requirements.

Customer-Specific Solutions and Process Flexibility

With textile mills processing an expanding variety of woven and knitted fabrics, blends and value-added materials, machine flexibility has become an important purchasing consideration. InspirOn addresses this requirement by evaluating customer needs from the initial enquiry stage. Its sales and product office teams study the intended fabrics, processes and finishing applications before recommending suitable machine specifications. “We believe in providing a solution to the customer rather than only selling a stenter machine,” Bhagwati emphasises.

This approach allows machine configurations to be aligned with individual processing requirements rather than relying on a standardised specification for every application.

Automation for Consistent Quality

InspirOn has been supplying fully PLC-based stenter machines for several years. The company also recommends process-control sensors to help customers improve repeatability and reduce dependence on operator skill.

Options include exhaust-humidity sensors, residual-moisture measurement, pick counters and pyrometers for dwell-time control. These capabilities support more precise process management and help maintain consistent fabric quality across production runs.

For mills seeking greater visibility into plant operations, SCADA and IoT systems can provide process-monitoring capabilities, including remote access. The optional IoT feature available with Motex stenters enables access to real-time data, analysis and reports, helping processors monitor day-to-day energy consumption and identify potential causes of breakdowns.

The combination of automation, monitoring and process-control technologies is designed to support informed operational decisions while improving consistency and ease of operation.

European Technology with Local Support

Bhagwati identifies the combination of technology, cost-effectiveness and long-term service as a key strength of the Motex range. “What sets Motex apart is the combination of European technology at Asian price,” she says, adding that InspirOn follows the philosophy of “One quality under one roof” and places importance on timely delivery.

The company’s service commitment extends to machines supplied in its early years. Its trained technical team provides service and genuine spare parts, supporting customers throughout the equipment lifecycle.

Bhagwati points to customers such as Arvind, Vardhman and Raymond in India, who value the durability and cost-effectiveness of Motex machines. International customers, including Milliken and Tencate, have highlighted the company’s after-sales support and availability of genuine spares.

InspirOn believes that local service teams and continuous process optimisation provide an important advantage, particularly for textile manufacturers seeking reliable equipment performance over the long term.

Showcasing the Latest Motex Technology at INDIA ITME 2026

InspirOn Engineering will participate in INDIA ITME 2026, where it plans to showcase a stenter machine incorporating its latest features and technologies. Bhagwati considers the exhibition an important meeting point for textile machinery manufacturers and the wider industry. The company expects visitors from India and international markets to explore its equipment and understand the technological developments shaping its stenter range.

As textile processing increasingly prioritises energy efficiency, automation and consistent quality, InspirOn’s focus remains on combining practical engineering solutions with customer-specific configurations and dependable service. Its participation at INDIA ITME 2026 will provide an opportunity to demonstrate how the Motex range is evolving to address these requirements.
